Anger Issues are Back now that I'm exercising

Look at all these wimps.

You submissive men make me sick.

Dwight, embrace your spot as an alpha male over these weak scrawny affiliate marketers.

There's nothing wrong with manly rage, just make sure you don't murder anyone, then the guv might have a problem with you.

This is pretty common. Once you get the test going your personality changes and I've seriously even re-considered philosophical positions I've held since I went on a high fat diet and started getting 8 hours of sleep.

I'm not sure that Test is a good thing, having high amounts. Good thing we have women to balance us out

I've been exercising regularly for a couple of weeks (in addition to the healthy eating I started at the beginning of the Body Transformation Contest) and I've noticed that I have a lot shorter fuse now...

I almost got in a fight Saturday night, which managed to get me thrown out of a restaurant (I got into a shouting match with the owner) and I notice my patience is no longer what it used to be.

Any ideas on what I can do to counteract this? Are my testosterone levels higher, causing me to get angrier?

Same. Not so much anger as unwarranted aggression. Whenever I up the intensity on a workout cycle Mr. Hyde trys to comes out more. It's always been that way so by now it's routine to keep in check, mostly.

Uptime and Dwight, what is your ethnicity? Wondering if you guys are part of an ethnicity with naturally high test production

Lifting weights increases your testosterone. Also less crappy food that is hard to digest makes it worse//better.

Weed / soy / etc might make you more relaxed.

Japanese soybeans with salt might calm you down some.

Is your ring fingers longer than your pointy (first) finger? If so you have a fairly naturally high test level. Might want to watch the situation.

Silly question but as part of your new diet did you stop drinking diet soda? Aspertaine that fake sweetener in diet soda is highly addictive, and if you stop cold turkey you go though massive withdraws.

WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN BY THAT!!!!!
Just kidding. (i kid)

Seriously though see my avatar.

Really to answer your question I have very little ethics. (more kidding)

WASP. Except instead of the P it's all A. I'm a WASA.

I don't think it has anything to do with testosteron levels. you're feeling stronger fysicly and mentaly, that's why you behave like that. It;s all in your head

ROFL. I was just trying to figure out if you were black bro. :)

Actually, let me chime in here...

Testosterone levels in men are a difficult beast. The testosterone level varies wildly during the course of the day, so to judge a "level", one needs to test several times a day.

Testosterone ranges from 300 nanograms to 1.3micorgrams per dL in males <50years of age are normal.

Several studies (Schwab et al 93, Craig et al. 89, Marin et al. 2006) have found raised testosterone levels after exercise, but these generally return to baseline in under half an hour.

Also, the link between risk taking / agression and testosterone has not been sufficiently proven. The evidence rather points against it, see Eisenegger et al. Prejudice and truth about the effect of testosterone on human bargaining behaviour. Nature, 2009; DOI: 10.1038/nature08711

Summary here:
Testosterone does not induce aggression, study shows

So this does not explain your anger issues, I am afraid.

Explainations might be that the "I have more testosterone after sports / testosterone make Hulk angry" is a common belief that might lead to an inner "excuse" for being mad.

As I also had this (back when I did more bodybuilding), here are some pointers:

- Let it out on the weights.
- Calm down after exercise. I took a walk to a train station that was further away than the nearest one. No company, no smokes, just relaxing.

Use the HALT exercise from junky therapy. Basically, it tells the ex-addict, that whenever he wants to take drugs, he should HALT and check if he is:

H - Hungry
A - Angry
L - Lonely
T - Tired

Of course, you only check H, L, and T.
For me it turned out, I was often tired (not sleeping enough) and sometimes hungry. The combination would make me really angry (Still does. Being hungry AND tired is a shit combination, but I know the signs now.)

Hope this helps.
Hit me up with any questions.

If you're upping your caffeine this can definitely happen. It's called caffeine rage and it is real - if you take enough. It could happen with any stimulant probably.. and people who work out often take workout stimulants.

Good advise been using it for years and it does work..

Should we take a poll on how many IQ points you lose after reading shit like this?

it's called going healthy, you're more easily annoyed when you're deprived of the foods you usually, eat, it'll pass.
