Well, they can definitely cause some problems as Facebook is known to have a few loopholes, but "taking down" is a big word.

I wish this would really happen though, it would put some action on the interwebz on the most boring month of the year.

I read somewhere that Hotz is working for FB now consulting for their security. Recent changes on FB have made all your contacts phone numbers available on FB. I think FB is getting way too intrusive and collecting a lot more data than it should be.

Only way they would be able to take it down is if they had found some sort of exploit with facebook. DDOS won't work unless they somehow hit thousands of servers at the same time.
