Antivirus blocked infection in "5000th post" thread?

I'm talking about dmnEPC's current thread, obviously.


Avast:
Infection Blocked
Infection: BV: DelFiles-AZ [Trj]


Anyone else get this? Any idea what in there caused it?

And no, I don't think dmnEPC or any other WF users are trying to trojan us. They probably just unknowingly linked to something, or Avast is just being silly or whatever.

Are you sure it says "DelFiles-AZ"?

If it does, then you're fucked. That's an NSA tracking pixel.

I believe it's been reported that they already have backdoors into Windows.

Anyways, I got a laugh out of your post and the "windows problems" tag. FWIW, I do duel boot with Linux.
 
AVG blocked that page from me as well with an anti-virus warning.

So let's call that confirmed.

I blame the NSA.
 
Are you serious? It must be that system delete script. My bad. There is nothing that will run unless you make it run.


EDIT: confirmed. looks like I broke the internet. It's def that script. Gonna have to have a mod clean it.

So post it again without the delete script...put it in as plain text or something :)

Ya i'm working on it. It will be easier to have a mod clean it up. That is a prime example of censorship. If the internet says something isn't safe, then it I guess it isn't. That post is nothing but an educational post. There is nothing malicious in it whatsoever. You couldnt delete your system files if you tried by reading that thread. The only way you could, would be to paste it into a text editor and save it as a .bat file and then click and run it. But hey the internet says it's a virus so must be a virus. Ill find a way around it.
 
given the title of his post, I thought it was a joke lol...set off my virus protection too...
 
It loads fine now for me. Certain antivirus programs might still consider it a dangerous url for a period of time.

Good to know. Hopefully changing that script to an image was all it took. Anyone still having trouble you might try clearing your browser cache.
