Any children of the 80's here?

I'm just glad my kid won't have to listen to glam rock bands like Poison, Whitesnake, Cinderella and White Lion unless of course she "discovers" my cassette collection!

AHHH YEAH!

Wow - it never struck me until watching that how Thundercats is a clearly a total ripoff of He-man, only done by Furry fetishists.

You knew where you stood in the 80s. All we had to fear was Arthur Scargill, and some Argies stealing a bit of penguin-infested rock from us.

I can't wait to see what music my kids play to make me say "turn that bloody racket down".

Seeing as my collection runs to gabber, noizecore and fuckstep :D

On second thoughts, I bet they'll rebel, play bland pop music, and stay up in their room studying to be actuaries. That would cause me to throw them out.

1982...
Punky Brewster, sproingy Neon coloured shoelaces, Hypercolour Tshirts, slapbands (hey, memory metals are STILL cool) and a complete G1 set of Transformers, most of which had metal parts to them (except for a Megatron which was banned under Australian airgun regulations - I had a Galvatron though).

I also remember how Anthrax made it perfectly acceptable for metal bands to wear neon colours and have short hair, and not understanding the politics behind OffSpring's first album but still jumping on my bed and playing a tennis raquet to it.

Amatuersurgeon: And that's why I'm not having kids... I'd be mortified if they grew up to be respectable people!

I had a nintendo dual screen. You played as Donald Duck and had to put out a fire on a building. I still have it somewhere.

I had that. And a couple of years back, I bought the Popeye single screen for a little nostalgia. Remember the dual screen Donkey Kong?

I didn't have the Donkey Kong one, but I did have the Popeye one. I'll have to see if I can find them. I also had a Donkey Kong game that was more like a tabletop game. It had a color screen and looked like a miniature arcade game.

Transformers (the original ones)
Gobots
GI Joe
Parachute pants
Rubik's Cubes
Cabbage Patch Kids
Garbage Pail Kids
Smurfs
Voltron

Garbage Pail Kids were the best:

If you didn't have one of these, you weren't shit....and if you were fortunate enough to have a brother or sister hit you in the head with it, you know that you know how bad ass it was.

Damn I'm old bastard. Played the shit out this thing. Plus my dad was proud as shit when he brought the latest in home entertainment, the laser disc.

Yes I had the 500+ hotwheels and my bro still does. That nut has a basement full of new and old toys. Original series Starwars and other off the wall shit that was a poor seller back in the day. Which was a Wednesday by the way.

1982. Wife thought I was making up Stretch Armstrong. (She was born in Belgium and didn't move to Canada until she was 12).

i miss being a kid in the 80's.

83. Had most of the He-Men as a kid. Mix in a few original Lego blacktron and space explorers.

I'm 39 days out of the 70's! Missed it by that slim margin.

I was born in the 70's but I don't remember any of it, so it doesn't count. :D

Frogger was my favorite. I'm reminded of it everyday trying to get out of my neighborhood.

That just means you should have laid off the peyote! Nothin worse than a tweaked 2 year old!

What are you doing awake anyway? Shouldn't you be catching up on some sleep?

He's already sleeping well, only waking once from 11-7 to feed (And we end up waking him).
