I go to a UC and shits get pretty tough here. Well its probably because I'm majoring in science so its hard to bullshit around that. Not like philosophy or sociology or art. Haha you can bullshit art easily, just call it abstract. Zing! Hi-O! Huzzah!

Many folks are doing those numbers with both. However, if you are as poor as you purport, you might want to travel down the SEO road before you can afford to blow money on paper click.

6 figures a month with seo is fucking impressive.

(not that 6 figures a month with paper isn't as well, just saying)

I'm at a UC too, studying something I'm interested in, but I don't know how much more bullshit work I can take. Good thing I graduate in one more quarter, then I can finally get the fuck out of here and focus on making monies.

I just started AM around January but once school got more hectic I had to shut it down for the most part. I tried PPC but quickly realized I pretty much have no cash flow yet, so right now I'm mostly doing SEO in my spare time.

One thing about getting into IM though is that it influenced the classes I decided to take. This quarter I took classes on search engines/info retrieval/web design and next quarter, my last quarter, I just need 8 more units to graduate, so I'm taking 2 marketing classes pass/no pass. Might as well take advantage of these resources while I'm still here. If only I got into IM earlier I probably would've taken more useful courses instead of some of the random ass classes that I picked.

yup I'm a final year maths student and been doing am for two years. I'm finally earning enough to live off just as I finish college though.

im a bit older then you guys I guess, I'm 25, but I dropped out second year much for the same reasons as Demon. I'm also no genius when it comes to classes, I was barely passing and hated every moment of it so it made the choice pretty easy for me. it's been about 5 years now and I never looked back. I dont know if its the same in the US but here (Canada) I was talking to an uncle of mine who never got a bachelor degree and worked his way up through the ranks of a very prominent insurance company and when it was time to be promoted to VP level he didnt have any degrees so he went back to school and got a masters, he didn't need a bachelor because of his work experience. My plan has always been to work and get the relevant work experience then go back and get my masters in business when I'm 30-35.

I'm attempting a variation of the 200k a year plan while taking 15 units. Like other people have said, it's not hard to get B's and C's in school, just show up and stay awake and don't be a dumb ass.

That's how I started AM. I was so glad when I graduated. I was fucking exhausted my last year. If I sat down on a sofa or a soft chair I would fall asleep.

i fucked the school for AM. ... i would learn something for years and then what? work for someone?.. no way ;)

Um, no. Focus on AM. Throw all of your energy into AM.Think about your campaigns when you're in class.
You need to look at this as a business decision. What's going to make you more money? Getting an A instead of a B in some shitty random class, or setting up a six figure campaign?

It's pretty easy to get by and get Bs and Cs with minimal effort. Do enough to not fail, and focus on AM in all your spare time.
Most employers will not give a shit about your grades- they will care a lot more whether you can make money in the real world, and your marketing experience is far more valuable.

i concur... damn i hated school, but i miss seeing chix

man, thats what I'm going through right now.

I'm incorporating within the next week while still working for 4 days as an apprentice and going 1 day to professional school (apprenticeship as programmer in Switzerland). Also go to football (soccer) training and games, and have a gf.

I can't wait for this whole shit to be over. But I started AM 1 year ago and was already 3 years into this 4 yr apprenticeship.. so wouldn't really be worth quitting it for those 2 months that are left... It's exhausting and all you have to do is get through it the best way possible.

How do you find the time to do it? I'm trying to juggle between school and IM and I think I'm failing miserably. I'm not making grades or money.

Think like a business man/woman. Learn to outsource. You can do that anywhere you know. Pay someone to read lectures that you can listen to while you work.

Hit the comp sci department and do a little bartering. Get someone to whip you up some kinda scripts that automate some of your work and write/help them write their paper (or whatever you are good at).

A friend just wrote a book about how college is actually a great breeding ground for entrepreneurship.

Also, don't be afraid to think out of the box. If you are taking any business classes, see if you can get some credit for your "real life" experience doing AM.....
