Any investors out there? (Or people with money)

You guys are way too harsh.

A lot of Angels and VC's are accepting of paying a sustenance package. In exchange for taking care of the necessities, the founder is able to put 100% focus toward the product instead of thinking how they're going to eat. $30k is not a lot if the person is talented and would demand a higher market value salary.

Plus, it seems like OP is not only giving up equity, but intending to pay back the loan. Equity + Debt is $$$ for any investor.

OP, try angellist or find an angel locally. Good luck man.

Software is a fickle and fast moving business. At least post what your software can accomplish, or give a brief review.

If the intention is to be the middle man, you have stiff competition already.

If it is to enable better record keeping, there strong alternatives on the marketplace already.

Will the software help small businesses connect with health care providers to comply with the rules of the law - you might have a chance but many alternatives to choose from.

Is the software designed to list all the rules about Obamacare and the many health care providers - Many software's and websites offering such information.

There is a small untapped niche within the health care industry that's in need of new software, but I would not give it away for free.

So if you want people with hard earned money to bite, you need to explain some of the $$$ potential of the software.

If you're prepared to move into your car, why do you need $30k?

Without rent costs, you could easily live off a few hundred a month, and less than $5k/year. Shower at friends' houses, sponge bath at public restrooms, microwave ramen noodles, make good use of library/mcdonalds wifi + power outlets, etc. I know this, because I've done it.

Unless you plan to spend a 5-6 years in the "sales phase", living solely off of a loan, during which time your original and un-updated software product will become all but worthless, this is a ridiculous request - made all the more ridiculous by how you actually made the request.

As others have suggested, why not just go pick up a 40-hour job flipping burgers while coding on the side? It sounds like it sucks, and it does indeed suck, but you'll feel proud of yourself regardless of your project's success - and, on top of that, you won't be a groveling beggar.

tl;dr - you're doing something WAY wrong if you need $30k for living costs while bootstrapping. You don't even need to live from a car, just pick up a cheap studio thats not too close to a major city.

I mean, damn, I remember when I was able to live fairly comfortably in a 1bedroom apt making less than $15k/year working at Best Buy right out of high school.
