Any Trailer Park Boys Fans? The Drunk and on Drugs Happy Funtime Hour...



I love TPB, but I think it will be difficult to recreate the magic of the original series. I'll definitely have to check this show out though.

I don't know about this but I will reserve judgment till I see an episode. Looks like they might have taken it a bit too far and made it stupid.
 
Trailer Park Boys is hands down, bar none one of the most brilliantly written television shows in history.

The writers of Always Sunny In Philidelphia stole so much shit from the show it isn't even funny though, but oh well.

To anyone who wants to check out the show you need to watch several episodes to appreciate it. There is a LOT going on in this show and the characters are so well developed it fucking blows everything else out of the water. It's a great example of a mockumentary done CORRECTLY (i.e. NOT "The Office")

Haven't seen much about the new show but unless Mike Clattenburg is directing it/producing it then it probably won't be nearly as good.
 
Word up to my boy EricVonDoobie. Show is actually fucking hilarious, at first i was drunk and my friends house and he showed me it on netflix. Thought it was dumb first few episodes but when i started to understand the concept and the characters it was down right hilarious.
 
Its definitely one of those shows you have to get a few episodes in to appreciate. I love it because its one of the few shows that doesn't develop. Every season is the exact same plot with different happenings. The season starts with the boys getting out of jail. The trailerpark is in good shape and lahey is off the bottle. The boys cook up a scheme to make money while avoiding jail and lahey goes back on the bottle and starts scheming against the boys, hilarity ensues. The trailerpark gets trashed and everything goes to shit. The season ends with the boys going back to jail.

It's just awesome because you don't have to pay that much attention to it while every other show demands deep involvement in the plot twists. Lahey is either unbelievably drunk and trying to act or the best damn actor in the world pretending to be drunk. He's the fuckin man while on the bottle. There's just certain shit you can't fake when you're acting like you're drunk and he makes every other actor in the world pretending to be drunk look like a total hack. He's got to be legitimately wasted on set.

Love this show, eh!
Had no idea about their new series and the trailer made me LOL a few times - although a little bizarre to see them as other characters - so definitely gonna check it out. Thanks for the heads up.
 
smoke enough and this'll be funny too...but you can't compare it to TPB...you can only hope the "boys" don't let you down
 
Was a big fan of TPBs and had not seen this new show was being made, so will check it out. Am not to hopeful though, hard to capture the magic of the original. Also I will really miss "Bubbles" with his coke bottle glasses. I never get the impression the "boys" were excellent actors, so we will see how they do with multiple roles.
 
Trailer park boys is the best tv show ever!

They keep in real. Seen there stand up in person, they called one of the chicks I went with on stage. Bubbles was all up on her implants the whole time. On the way out the roadie tried to get her to come backstage after the show. Roadie told her the boys will be hanging out drinking and smoking after the show if you want to join them.

Did she go? If she went did she show bubbles her implants?
 
this looks more like a retarded (in a good way) adult swim show more than another real series like trailer park boys. TPB was good while it lasted, it was milked for all it was worth, and it's time for the writers to go another avenue. Maybe this will be another hit cult series, but expect something a lot different.

Seriously, the fact that you're referring to them as the "boys" is a great indication of their level of acting, they're all way ahead of their time. I'm not even sure they know it either. Lahey is a fucking anomaly. He's a classically trained actor but you'd never know it and he'd never brag about it, he's terrific.

TPB wasn't milked, that's part of what makes it so awesome. They did 7 seasons then stopped. They made a few movies/short films, but that's it. Mike Clattenburg knew completely when TPB was up, so he stopped.

That's the hallmark of a television show prodigy, honestly. It's like if Biggie or Tupac had not been murdered, but stopped making music at the exact same time they would have been murdered. That's like what happened with TPB, part of the "perfect storm" that made it so unique.
