This is relevant to my interests. I hope to move to Brazil within the next year (at least for a few months to check it out, maybe longer). My criteria is beaches, house music, hot chicks, decent internet and a foreign language. Miami would actually work just fine, I guess, but I assume the surfing is better in Brazil.

Maybe so, but you'd be surprised how many non-neckbeards are on here. Plus I've found that as long as you're reasonably attractive that most females LOVE anybody who is from a different culture/country - not just the Asian's.

I love this place. While in Cuba last week I decided I need more beach and that being in BA for a month wasn't what I need right now. I decided on Florianopolis so I can learn to kite surf. I google "Florianopolis wickedfire" and get this thread.

In Uruguay at the moment, punta del este and punta del diablo have been incredible but it's the end of the season now so will be heading to Rio for carnival if anybody is around lemme know.

P.S if you're an ass man (and let's be honest all us gay webmasters are) then I can definitely recommend Uruguay in the peak season. All the rich Argentina women in thongs A+.

I like Chile but it's not Euro enough for me. I wish the rest of South America were as free market oriented as Chile. They were ahead of the US in several things, e.g, long distance telephone competition. Plus, they have privatized their social security system.

I dont like Florianopolis very much except for Jurere Internacional which is a district with the highest stantard of living and safety from brazil. A lot of people go there during the summer, there are nice parties and beach. (See the video charlesmartel posted).

Very close to Florianopolis there is Balneário Camboriú which is also a beach city and has the three best house clubs in the world. Green Valley, Space Ibiza and Warung.

Thanks for the information, will definitely hit you up when I am around there. Will be going to florianopolis, might move around that area a bit but my Portuguese is terrible so we'll have to see.

I was in BA for around three months and actually it really depends, some women there HATE foreigners - especially gringos that can't speak English. They are usually extremely pro government as well (they being the chicks that don't like foreigners).

On the other hand, some women there LOVE foreigners. I've heard that other parts of Argentina are much better for gringos - especially Rosario.

Also 1 usd ~ 7 pesos at the blue market rate, but once everybody takes their cut you're going to be lucky to end up with 6.5 pesos.

I think only about 10% of the population is European. The rest are mostly mestizo. I haven't been to Chile since 1995 or so. Back then they had discount long distance calling. You'd dial a special code, e.g, 10333, and get cheaper rates. The US offered that service later on.

Right now you would end up getting 7,9 .....the economy is getting ugly down here. We are currently in a recession but having a 30% inflation rate to say the least, at the same time.
