Happy holidays you guys!

I was in Tokyo for 2 months and I really liked it, I was wondering if anybody ever lived in Seoul and how was it like?

Safe? High cost of living? (higher than Tokyo's?)

Do people generally speak English?

How much does a meal cost? Rent?

Can't really find info about Korea in English. Appreciate the help.
 


Rent is cheaper than Tokyo, food and drinks is cheaper (like bottle of soyu is $1) and people generally speak English in Seoul because the parents send all their kids overseas to study.

Also, enjoy your Korean women, plastic surgery is rampant and cheap over there, thinking of getting some done myself.

Probably as safe or safer than a normal American city.

Rent for a typical small apartment is probably comparable/cheaper than in big American cities, assuming you can put down a hefty deposit, though the apartments will be smaller of course.

If you eat like a Korean, then it's cheap. There are tons of little shops and fast food places that are as cheap or cheaper than American fast food. I didn't really spend more on food/groceries there than I did in the US, but you have to be flexible.

Don't assume that anyone will speak English well enough to communicate. You can get by, but expect some difficulties.

Seoul is safe, but it has it's shady areas. Stay out of room salons around Jogno and you should be fine ;)

Rent depends on where you live, but most Korean landlords will want Jeonse, which is 5-6 months rent deposit upfront. Most tourist visas are only 6 months and these deposits are usually 1 year minimum, so that might be a pain in the ass. There are cheap 1-room shit boxes you can get without deposit called Goshiwons.

The younger people mostly speak English, but don't assume everyone does. All the signs/subways/buses have English.

For pussy go to Hongdae and pickup college students, but be prepared to deal with the faggot English teachers and cock-blocking Korean guys who are also faggots.

edit: don't come in the winter either, it's too cold.
