Anybody playing BF4 yet?

BF3 completely destroyed what was left of the COD franchise (at least in respect to serious gamers). They made massive leaps in terms of graphics / realism. BF4 as I understand it is largely the same experience, just new maps and bells/whistles such as being able to use mobile devices simultaneously in-game to control things.

Pretty much this. Some improvements to the graphics, more destructible maps, more weapons and gadgets, a command system, and a few other bits. From the small amount I have played thus far it's pretty cool, but a bit buggy. Needs a few patches to sort out some issues, much like BF3 did, and then I think it will be quite good.

Hit me up if you ever want to play, you have my battlelog :)

its just a $60 bf3 expansion and will have a dozen other expansions on top of it for $14.99 each

And they'll force you to waste your bandwidth downloading all of those expansions too, whether you want them or not.

More than once with BF3 I'd load it up to have a quick game and be forced to wait through a 1.8 Gig download & installation first. >:(

While I sort of agree that they haven't brought anything revolutionary to the table, it's slightly more than just an expansion. It includes a significant graphics update, a whole new offline campaign, all new destructible maps, weapons, gadgets, command module, web interface update, and more. The game isn't without its faults though, there are some serious launch issues as there were with BF3, and it's going to take a few patches to get things right. Even with a sub 100ms ping there's shit tons of rubber banding and warping around.

That being said, only a complete noob would buy them one at a time at full retail price. Buy a premium key off ebay and get the whole lot for a little more than the game itself. This is how I buy all my games now.

BF4 Beta was awesome, and not surprisingly, the final release is pure shit.
What about game crashes?. Today I haven't been able to play a single match without a crash. Yesterday this problem was not present but it looks like DICE released a nice feature to test the crash report.

The netcode is shit too. How about firing a whole magazine point blank with no effect on your enemy?. I've been playing BF3 for more than 1 year and a half, and I prefer it over BF4.

Yes, the new LEvolution thing is great, and the graphics are amazing, but come on, the final release is even buggier than the beta, lol.

It looks like I'll have to wait another month before trying to rank up. When the game works, it's great.
