i hate the word rave, but yes, about once or twice a year when a big DJ is in town.
 
I went to Nocturnal Wonderland. Best rave eva!!! I think raves are only good if rides are included (for obvious reasons). ;)
 
Went to one on Saturday night after not being to one in about ten years, when I used to DJ. I couldnt believe how young everyone was. Skittles everywhere. On drugs. Weird.
 
I used to rave for most of the 90s and absolutely love house music. Not many raves these days but I do go out to the clubs from time to time. Spent 8 days in Ibiza in July with 14 people in a huge villa we rented. Went to Space, Pacha, etc. Good times!
 
I used to be a "rave" DJ, from btween '93 - '01 and I owened a few record shops as well, selling house, jungle, gabber etc.

I haven't been to a "rave" in many years, although in Miami we have clubs that are open until 2:00 the next afternoon and 24 hour liqour licenses, so unless you're underage there's no reason to have an underground party.

That said, I did go to an event that was reminicent of a rave a few weeks ago when Venitian Snares played a gig on the beach.
 
I did when I lived in Moscow and also went to a couple a few years ago in San Francisco .

Unfortunately, there is never anything going on in DC :( . An occasional Tiesto or Armin Van Buuren concert here and there, but that's about it.
 
I was out for Candyland 13. It was depressing. I remember the first one over at Club Nu/Paragon, along with scores of other great parties back then. In 98 I actually threw an event called Electrolyte Festival. Man, that sounds funny thinking back on it, but at the time it was the coolest thing ever!

There's actually a lot of raves going on in Maryland/West Virginia about an hour or 2 from DC.

And yes, occasionally. Though I've avoided them the last few months to get my shit together. But it won't be long before I'm back. Until then I'll continue to hit the smaller clubs.
 
i used to work the door at a place that did huge raves in Dallas. Entry was about $20 but I normally ended up letting people in in exchange for acid, pills, weed, mushrooms and ecstasy. Needless to say by the end of the night I could not do my job.

One night a chick gave me 3 pills and told me not to take em all at once, I of course popped em all immediately. Turned out to be Rohypnol. Bad night.
 
I use to do the same but I didn't take drugs from people, I would take money to let them skip in line. For a $20 night people would actually pay $100 so they didn't have to wait out in the cold. Not the biggest fan of the music but I learned to appreciate it after being bombed with it for 10 hrs.
