Anyone Good At Building Programs/Software?

I have a great idea for a program, basically its a scraper, of sorts.. but its what it does that would be gold. I am a designer, not a programmer but I really see a massive market for something like this. If you are interested in hearing what I have in mind, hit me up.
 


I might me interested in doing a web based, subscription model software. I have ideas in that space too. Kind of like a perpetual, web based ScrapeBox.
 
I was working on something like that. Basically, a set it and forget it web application that builds links daily. Like a scrapebox that works on all of your sites, spits out a daily report (if you want one) and builds your links. If anybody wants to team up on a project, I'm in.

Not directing this at the OP, I'm just bitching in general, but to me, as a developer, this is the world's largest turnoff. Ideas are a dime a dozen. People drop "multi million dollar ideas" in my lap all day long; and usually, they have the balls to ask for "half" -- wake up call, giving me an idea to build is NOT "half" the work compared to the hours it'll take to build, polish and debug it. If it's not a good idea, and it tanks, then that's time and money I've lost writing code we don't need, but all you've lost is your idea. If it's a good enough idea that you think you can profit off it, then you should pay me to build it (because I have a skill set that you do not), and if you can't afford to pay me for it, then you're just another guy with an idea wasting my time.
 
uplinked -- I agree that's why you have to be real careful when thinking about doing anything. I've been on the short end a few times before.
 
I'm with you uplinked. I've had the shit-end of the stick MANY times. The only thing that helped me out (getting my cash) was making people sign contracts, threatening to do bodily harm to them and constant calling.

I have this idea. I'm telling you man, it's really something. Literally no one has ever done it! I'm thinking we can easily pull in 5000 users in the first month, at $59 a pop! That's $300k dude! We can split the revenue 50/50 (because of course it's my idea, and the hundreds of hours you spent coding it up match my handful of hours with a joint and a pen sketching out shit onto a notebook with a grid design instead of college ruled lines because that means I'm an idea guy instead of just a kid with a notebook). I'll need you to do this for free, just equity based, because I don't actually have anything to my name but some idea I came up with one night. I know as a coder, you spend all day in front of a computer anyways, so what's a few more hours working your ass off for free on my idea, right?

Anywho, enough about me, hit me up and let's nail this shit man! I think we should be able to launch in 2-3 weeks, because my complete lack of development knowledge still allows for me to accurately estimate project time frames as if I have been a project manager for years.

The good thing about being a coder and listening to idea givers is, you can usually get the jist of an idea in a single sitting. Most coders can judge if an idea is worth the time and effort. After that, you just say, "Sorry, not interested". Then you can turn around, do it yourself, and then maybe send a thank you basket to the idea giver at some later time after it's done and profiting.

I've never actually heard a good enough idea that I wanted to "steal" it.

Lots of crappy ideas that I don't want anything to do with, sure, but everyone who's ever come to me with a GOOD idea, I wanted to partner with them in building it -- whether it's 50/50 or whatever else is fair, I want them on the project, with some sort of input.

Then again, in retrospect, your idea sounds way easier than the shit I've been through for my "clients", and at the end of the day I'd probably make more monies that way too. I might have to steal this one.
