Anyone know Mike Stanescu?

Just wondering if anyone else has any experiences with him or is working with him now. He's owed me a (small) payment for over a month now. I have a few clients that say they've worked with him and he's fucked them over a few times and they don't go near him anymore. I worked for him for a few weeks in February and didn't have that many problems apart from some late payments due to 'PayPal problems'. I can understand a week to get some money together if you're having some problems but a month? Give me a break. Generally what he did was ask me to design something, then he'd play it off as his own work to his clients, and charge them twice what I charged. I honestly don't have that big of a problem with that, if he'd actually pay me.

By the way, is there much I can do about it? He's in the US and I'm in Canada, no contracts were signed so I'm probably shit out of luck in that regard. The payment is too small to actually take legal action if I had that option, but I do need the money for rent. He added me on Facebook and I found a link to his new design business, which includes his phone number. So what should I do? Lol.

Dude.. he wanted me to do a rush job tonight, I already did a couple coding for him in exchange for a design...

was just bout to write him an email bout how its getting a lil out of hand how many rush jobs he wants and he hasn't gotten me any design yet (or the equiv monetary value), he did pay for the first job... but the rest... well you get the idea.

Hey guys, posting here to do just make sure people aren't getting the wrong idea. the situation with Tyler was unfortunate, I did run into a issue where a client did open a PayPal dispute for a BS reason. I am waiting for a response from Tyler as to his payment. I am upset that he resorted to posting on wickedfire, but whatever works. Ive been in contact with him via email.


As for karl, we just talked, it wasnt meant to be any harm.

Which is why I'm posting. He did send me an email saying that he would pay me this weekend, but he has said that kind of stuff before so I'm taking it with a pinch of salt.

I'm nearly profoundly deaf... basically I got just enough hearing where a hearing aid might work well for me provided I can also read the person's lips. Don't know too many clients that would have the patience to deal with TTY/TDD style communication over the phone. :updown: But then again, its not like everyone is like me.

My theory is that most people (not specifically to this thread but in general) new to business these days, find the phone to be a bit too personal. There's not enough time for people to think and formulate a response to advantage, or the ability to ignore someone for like a day or two if they somehow feel the need. And that goes both ways.

For the record Mike hasn't actually done anything wrong by me yet, I just don't feel comfortable going in so many projects before seeing a certain amount of return on my investment of time. And reading this thread naturally got me pausing for a moment til I could figure out what was going on.
