Heard about their recent payout changes, just curious if going back to percentage payout like the old days would change anything. I'm thinking not since they're switching to 24 hour cookie.

I still have a few phpbay sites laying around... Opinions on if it's still worthwhile at all?

I got the email too. Didn't pay much attention to it since none of my old EPN sites rank for much these days. It was great back in the day when you could actually make a fair commission on the sales you generated, but when they decided to pay virtually nothing for sending quality traffic and sales, I lost interest.

I still get a check from them every month, but havent actively done any building or marketing of the sites in about a year.

I dont even know which ones are making me money honestly.

Certain niches are definitely tailored eBay, making it worth it in my opinion. You can also set your EPN sites to only display auction listings ending within 24 hours along with buy it now listings for the new Oct 1 changes.

Same here, I just went to the EPN site for the first time in years, and found out I have about 10 sites still going that are generating revenue. Now I have to try to remember where I put the software I used to create the sites... And what it was called.

What's the short version of the new payment plan? It has to be better than the bullshit quality click thing they were doing.

Back when it was on a % of sale price, I was killing it with a couple guitar amplifier sites I had going. Mesa & Marshall heads were selling for $1400 a pop, which made for some nice checks. Ahh..the good ol days.

A couple of months ago, an ancient site sold at $1200 porcelain doll. My cut was about $7.

Those old days were good, but dose days are gone, at least for me.

Funny this thread popped up, I was just thinking about EPN this morning and how awesome it used to be. Remember banking off ACRUs?

Those were the days.

^ This. The money was never in the sales of the items but the $40 you got when a new user signed up to eBay. As soon as they cut the ACRU's all of my sites became worthless. Revenue dropped a good 80% overnight.

When you look at the category rate card, it seems enticing to see the category percentiles again. HOWEVER, with a 24 hour cookie, and most people waiting until the last second to bid/buy, there's going to be some major fucking going on.

Essentially if no action is taken it < 24hrs, you're sending free traffic to ebay.

Valid point
What if someone finds my site, goes to eBay, and looks at a bunch of items in their chosen category (ie; iPhones). The initial click is stamped on a sunday at 7PM. They find a bunch of items, and actually bid on one item. This item goes to another bidder, so the person then bids on another item. Again, they loose the bid. Fast forward to three days later, and they actually win an action.

No credit for us the referrers, even thou we have:

1. Driven targetted traffic to eBay
2. Enticed the user to bid
3. They win an action and generate income for eBay

eBay's auctions last from 7 to 10 days. That's the nature of auctions. What your proposing with the 24 hours policy is an insult to the nature of what we've put energy into.

Credit us for what we deserve - not what makes more profit for eBay.

This affiliate program is just getting worse with each and every move. Why bother even running it anymore? I know a lot of publishers who have given up!

You want your traffic to be shopping like a boss. When they're on your site, you want to rub their bug so hard that they're gonna BIN as soon as you send them to eBay...and quiver uncontrollably while doing so.
