Hi there,

has anyone tried TOR (tor network, www.torproject.org) for making huge ammounts of queries to remote servers?

There is a server version as well, I only quickly dimmed it, but looks interesting.

I hope to find a more relieable and scaleable way than those old proxies.

Anyone experience here?

it's an option, but:

1) it's slow as shit compared to good private proxies
2) you have zero control over where the IPs are geolocated (unless you rotate until you find a good one)

But if it's a hands off automation system, who cares if it's slow just go for it

We've never run it with huge volume; it's slow, got a limited UI, and difficult to find nodes in specific geolocations if that's what you're looking for. If you just want to route traffic and aren't picky about the destination, then it might be an option for you.
