Anyone using an Asus K93 SV? Link

I tried one in the shop just now and it seemed kind-of sluggish.
I thought the graphics chip might have been having a problem with
the 18" full HD screen? Also, the screen looks extremely shiny?

Other than that, it looks/feels like a good quality laptop. I like that
it takes up to 16Gb RAM, and that it appears to have two drive bays
so it's a candidate for a SSD later-on when the prices drop.

Can't find any good reviews of it though.
Anyone got experience?

Thanks.

Make sure you take the touchpad for a good test drive, if that's important to you. I've found all the models that I've tried to be cumbersome and more of a hindrence than a help.

Two of my family member have Asus' and they're terribly slow, even though spec-wise they match up with my new Satellite -- I'm a linux guy and they're Windows, so that's the best comparison I can offer.

Yep... it's for my desk; very rarely will it be moved.

Yeah, I tried the Asus side by side with an HP DV6-6xxx with same spec (slightly worse graphic card), and the HP seemed 'snappier' and more responsive somehow, and it seemed to install Windows Office noticeably quicker. However, the HP build-quality looked atrocious on close inspection.

I'm worried about the lack of reviews for the K93, and the K73sv seems too different to compare accurately.

Thanks for your replies

Asus is generally pretty high quality.

If you're not going to move your laptop, get a desktop and save some cash.
