Anyone Wants to Play MW2? Best way to network IMO

Ill give you that hes better than the average player

Reasons: 1st, angel munoz effectively ruined CAL and CPL as we know it. CGS died. and game developers are starting to realize that there is a lot more money to be spent by the average gamer that has a console. FPS gaming on the pc is a dying breed (some people are going to disagree with me, well theyre wrong). MW2 and cod4 were geared towards average gamers (perks, killstreaks, etc). In cod4, the entire pc community had to tweak the game without the help of the developers to get rid of useless perks, killstreaks, and ridiculous other problems that would effect competetive play. I've been apart of both gaming communities (pc and console) and i can say at the high level, pc is still very dominant skill wise. On another note, I am enjoying mw2 in the ps3 and 360 anyway. Its just a far dumbed down version with less chance of team strategy. On the pc (competitive) you play s&d only, 5v5. I used to spend hours with my team selecting routes and strats for each map on top of more hours learning set nades (finding nades that land in direct pressure points on the map) and calculating each in a specific time for each strat per map.

Yeh I agree MW2 is waaay too geared for casual play which is the main reason I stopped playing it.

"I used to spend hours with my team selecting routes and strats for each map on top of more hours learning set nades (finding nades that land in direct pressure points on the map) and calculating each in a specific time for each strat per map."

All those are done on console COD, not as common as PC but all competitive teams to do it.

RE: the video
If he's not cheating (dunno either way), then imo he's orimarily rocking good timing, reflexes, and instinct. But he did well in spite of his choice of controller, not because of it.

I've been FPSing since DOOM 1 and had a small part in the creation of iD Software's 'Final DOOM'. Around the time D2 came out I went to a local shop that had weekly Deathmatch tournaments... and they were all using keyboards or joysticks! I was like WTF?

Needless to say, my mouse and I destroyed them every week and I was dishing out DOOM II t-shirts (the match prizes) to my friends like crazy.

A hardcore console player will likely beat a casual PCer, but a lot of that will be just familiarity with the mechanics of the game, level knowledge, etc.
Pit two clones against each other with equal experience and I'd bet on the PC player every time.

I'm a Battlefield 2 guy, but may have to get MW2 after reading this thread.

When I used to be a PC gamer I would agree with you (and I know a few other people in the same position) but after playing to high levels of skill on several console games, these days I disagree..

There is no doubt using keyboard + mouse improves your potential aiming skill, but PC gamers drastically exagerate by how much, mainly due to very few of them playing a console game to a competitive level.

I've never played MW2 on PC in my life, but I guarantee I could pick it up and within a few days be performing at the same skill level as I was on console. PC will only be a bit harder because the percentage of casual gamers on PC is much lower than on console. Anyone can get used to using KB+M and anyone can get used to a controller, it's not your controller which determines your level of skill.

At the end of the day, KB+M or controller, it's just a tool you're using to play the game - except one allows you to aim to a bit more of a degree of accuracy.

ALL other variables are the same. The reason I don't play on PC anymore is because on console the playing field is truly level, whereas on PC it's not.. On PC you can get significant advantages by having a sick set up against someone who has a not so good computer, on console you don't have that imbalance.. Also hackers are very uncommon on consoles and extremely common on PC.

Well so far here are people who have it on 360, followed by Gamertag. (Add yours if you didn't include it earlier.)

Me = GENERAL DAN
Human = Rodite
eliquid = stattics
NickyCakes = Nickycakes I'm guessing? Or no? lol
FTC-Hater = kamikaze 48
ItsYoBuddy = ?
KC-COOP =?

I'm sure there's a lot more too. I know most of us don't play a lot, but if we like scheduled a night or something we could get a decent size party and just play a few rounds, maybe talk some interweb marketing.

So if you got 360 and you want in... post your gamertag and maybe we can set something up?

I'd be down for that. My GT: Ricky34Williams
