Well, here's how fucking retarded I am, and maybe a good lesson on making sure you do all of your homework before diving into new project. I decided to do some research on driving some apartment hunting traffic.

I've come up with what I think is a pretty good way to drive some decent traffic extremely cheap. So, I get pretty excited about getting a campaign started with them.

I signed up through the apartments.com program through CJ, thinking that hey, I can make some serious cash if all they have to do is email through the site and inquire about an apartment.

The mistake I made was not checking out the site first. Every fuckin' listing on there has a phone # to call for info, with a tiny link that's almost impossible to see with a contact form for email inquiries.

How many people are going to click the email link, which is hard as hell to find, to contact the renter instead of just dialing the phone number? Not enough to make it worth it would be my guess.

So, here's my question. Anyone had success promoting apartments.com? Or better yet, is there a better converting pay per lead apartment hunting website?

The traffic I'd be driving is cheap and targeted, but it's going to take a pretty good amount of work to drive it, so if the offer isn't going convert I'd rather not mess with it.

I might experiment with it still, although I doubt it's worth my time. If I do manage to get some conversions I'll post back here.

That's a huge problem, but not their only one. Have a look at any page and there are other huge traffic leaks. I think that if I'm sending traffic to a site that site should not be posting fucking banners all over the place to take the surfer to another merchant without me getting paid.

For example, if the person clicks that "university of phoenix" banner, I'm pretty sure I'm not seeing a penny from that, yet I got the surfer to the site in the first place.

Some merchants are really stupid. This is a classic example of one to never promote.

call the apartments up and set up your own affiliate program directly through them with your own apartment site.

Oh..
I guess it's time for you to find other site for that. I think it's a waste of time if you will still go through it...:)

Yeah I've seen clickbank merchants with 2 other ways to order....can't imagine how many sales lost that would be.
