Apple Event Today (Announcing New iPhone/iPad Mini/iPod) Anyone care?



they extended the display, made the wireless faster, made the device thinner and lighter, improved the sound, camera, microphones, and Halleluja! the connector can be turned either way. I think it looks pretty sweet and am thinking about switching over.

I'm currently on a Blackberry. After talking with more Android users they say the Google Nexus was basically the best phone since they get software updates immediately and directly from Google. All Nexus users were running Jelly Bean as soon as it was released. S3 users have to wait till November to get it, and LOL, S2 users still have to wait till October to get it. Rumour is that they will release a new phone in December in time for holiday shoppers. No links/pics released though, so who knows...

Yep, and I was looking to upgrade the ICS to Jellybean on my Nexus but decided to wait cos I thought it'd be too much hasle, lo and behold, just out of the blue came the auto update, and bam like 5 minutes later its upgraded to 4.1.1 automatically, flawless
 
Probably the first time, Most of the leaked photos and Videos were exactly right about the new iPhone 5. Most people already knew what to expect from this phone.

I would probably won't switch soon since my contract ends in May 2013, so have to wait out. However, I don't see any other phone in the market which has a solid build, great ecosystem (apps/itunes/icloud), better apps, better games, stability and value.

Let's admit it, Android will always remain a poor man's choice. It doesn't matter how hard they try to come up with high end phones like S3, the whole feel of their system and build, makes them look cheap.

Those of you thinking that iPhone 5 will be a flop are just dreaming. If people dumped their iphone 4 for iphone 4s for just SIRI and 8 mp camera. They would be dancing naked right now to grab that iPhone 5 which has much more features and way faster.
 
I really wonder If Tim Cook was serious at D10 when he told that they are going to double down on the secrecy (link), while the Iphone specs, Iphone pics, the headphone shots, charging port all kept featuring on various tech sites since June.

Iphone5 was really the worst kept tech secret in the history of the Iphone launches. Where is Steve Jobs?

Indeed, I'm tired of shit fucking plastic-ass phones. Oooh polycarbonate you call it? guess what? it's fucking plastic! I don't understand why no other company can make anything groundbreaking in terms of design, it's fucking amazing. iPhone's are a class act all over in design, quality and hardware.

I'm a staunch Windows Phone user and supporter, all it takes is for a company to design a phone that doesn't look like cheap shit for a change. The new Nokia Lumia 920 in my opinion looks horribly cheap with those bright coloured plastic bodies. They could have made an industrial-style phone from solid metal, magnesium or something cool like that with simple square lines and edges, a brushed metal finish and it'd be magnificent. The opportunity is lost on these un-creative companies.

Microsoft did it themselves with the Surface tablet for Windows 8 because nobody else can handle it. I wish they'd come out with their own phone design too...

Exactly my point. How can someone even compare a stupid plastic build with aluminium/glass combo? Is plastic even remotely classified as "Luxury"? forget luxury, can we even call it "durable"?

Since Google or Samsung or HTC or those other XYZ random android phone companies couldn't come out with a better design, they sticked to plastic just to look slimmer. They had no better design and if at all they tried looking classy with metal, their phone would look like the old age "NOKIA". To compensate, they chose plastic.

Android system is cheap ass as well, hangs million fucking times even on basic apps like Camera. Yes, I have S2 which i don't use much, just for testing my apps. I develop apps for both iOS and android.

Microsoft should have followed on from their Zune HD design... pretty damn nice for something that came out in 2009.

There is a reason why they are the worlds largest tech company and I would put money on it, that all you moaning fuckers own at least one Apple product, wether it be an iPod, iPad or iPhone, Mac etc (not that you would admit it).

If I would want to say objectively, the 'wow' factor of iPhone 5 compared to iPhone 4s or 4 is just....meh.

I do own few Apple products (Macbook Pro, iPhone 3G changed to 4 now, iPad) but seriously, this launch is the most underwhelming products of all its previous iterations.

I do note the most obvious difference of iPhone 5 though; that it has 5 rows of icons now.

Imagine if they came out like iPhone 30, then I can install a lightsaber app and really wield a 30 inch iPhone and swing it blindly at the street like a motherfucking Jedi.
