I have recently landed an internship with a startup company developing software on my university campus. The company has a superior product in the digital forensic market, with small to no competitors. I am tasked with helping out with marketing the product, but the problem is, the forensic industry is tough to break into because people need to be assured that a product works before they will take it into an actual investigation or it could ruin their case.
I've got some ideas, but anyone have any unique insights into possibly marketing this? The idea is to get it to be used as a standard in the industry, eventually getting other universities to purchase to train. This isnt an unrealistic goal either, the Dr. leading up the research has over 10mil in govt grants to develop software in the next few years.
Think booting a write protected system into a windows environment so anyone can explore a confiscated machine. and a software write blocker that runs sub OS level.
I know there are some marketing geniuses here.
