I'm going to get right to the point... I'm 23 today and I had the scare of my life... my godson who I love more than anything had his internal jugular vein twisted, which caused a terrible clot that almost cost him his life.. I've been drinking so my recation was worse than a normal reacation. My sister called me halfway to the hospital to tell me he'll be okay and should have zero permanent damage since they caught in time. I'm a douchebag on the forums a lot but tonight has taught me so much.. so appreciate those you love... and cherish your time with them... It's all I really got for you guys, but yeah...
 


On a serious note, I'm very glad your Godson will be fine.

Also, thank you for the new sig...
 
I'm glad he'll be ok, I had 2 such scares with family members in the past year and it really makes you take a second look at everything.

It really does.. It only took 2 hours to go from I thought he was going to die to knowing he'd be okay to comprehend how fast life can throw curveballs at us. I'm glad my sister said text me he should be okay.. I'll be taking him to the zoo Sunday and the Baltimore aquarium on Monday and I can't fucking wait....
 
Glad he's going to be okay. It sucks anytime someone we care about is danger, but it seems so much worse when it's someone so young.
 
Anyone who had been close to death learns something and comes back for a reason. Living there is a god if you need a reason. I've been few times, thanks god... Value what is important in life not when you are about to lose it but thank for it everyday...

Life is a bitch. It teaches us bunch of lessons everyday but we get carried away from these memories as time passes.

I had such an incident in Feb this year. Had my father 2 blockage in artery. It was a shock for me as I never in a remote dream imagined like that but again life is a bitch and you can't predict it. I still remember those 15 crucial days of my life as he had to gone thru pretty tough tests (Angiography, Angiogram and finally angioplasty). I hated everything that time and my only wish was to make him healthier again. Those days were too tough for me to handle but then again time wipes out everything.

Today he is fine and I'm again busy in usual life but yeah life teaches us hard lesson and we should learn from it.
 
I think the days of large scale World Wars are over. Now it's more regional conflicts. You had SE asia with Korea and Vietnam, The Balkans, and now the Middle East. The U.S. will just keep wantonly bouncing around wherever it pleases until someone finally get's fed up and pushes back hard, most likely in a nuclear way...then the final world war will start.

And I just realized I made a post about World Wars in the completely wrong thread.

Glad your Godson is okay. I remember having to watch my mom slip in and out of a coma over the course of 4 months. Worst experience of my life. Hope all goes well.
 
Scary for sure to realize that our current reality is paper thin, fragile as eggshells. Mortality sucks, but love is awesome. Glad to hear he's doing better and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
