Uh...my CTR is going down again and im losing money again=D Just wondering do you guys tend to favor the 160x600 skyscraper text ads on the right or the left? do people read them more when their eyes begin lines or end lines?

I generally stay away from skyscraper ads, they tend to suck. The rectangle blocks and link units work the best. In some cases the smallest horizontal can work well.

Good advice drusam!

I am trying to wean myself off of buying AdWords traffic. 7search and searchfeed look pretty good for cheap clicks too.

But the volume isn't there like a 1st tier engine. I don't care for either's interface much either. Also, since the ads are published across their network of affiliate sites, the bid prices are kinda fuck'd. You can bid 5c to rank #1 on one engine, but you're #74 on the next. So you bit 11c to bring up your rank, but then you're paying that 11c where you could be paying 3c for the same placement. Managing a shit load of keywords is also a pain in the ass as their interface is slow (speaking of searchfeed on that one, but 7search isn't much different).

Hey guys,
well today was a bust for me...saddening, how you could do SO well one day and suck the next. today i had about 102 visits and 12 clicks(including link ads)..in the end, i only lost a very little cents amount, but do you think i should adjust it or just let it sit for a few days and then see? i'm glad that i got 102 visits though! if only i can get a 33% click through rate, that would be amazing. one problem dies and brings back another problem=D

where is most of your traffic coming from? for the most part, my searchfeed traffic seems to not click a damn thing.

same,...my searchfeed traffic(i get more from here than 7search) seems to convert very badly,..but still how do ppl like jon and them manage 33-70% CTRs? today, mine CTR is 5%!

With 70% click through rate I'm guessing that the entire site is pretty much just ADs layed out to look like content. If they click ANYwhere they'll be clicking on an add. Maybe you have too much content for arbitrage.

Personally, I don't get 70% either. Closer to 35% on a good day.

cool trigatch,..so you think i should condense my content by quite a lot? also you posted at 11:11...kind of weird. keep seeing that time everywhere. i used to see 4:23 a lot(which is birthday) now i see 11:11 a lot(maybe thats my death day)?

Where I'm from 11:11 is considered good luck. You're supposed to "make a wish" when it's 11:11, kiss your finger and touch the clock.

The reason you "see" these times all the time is psychology... they stand out to you because they "mean" something or have an interesting "look" to them.

Relating this to advertising (our world) we see literally thousands of ads each day. We only remember a select few. Why do we remember these ads that stand out? Mostly because we have a reason to... we like the company or the ad, we are familiar with them already, we've seen it everywhere. It's our job to build this "brand".

4:23 is a "brand" to you. So is 11:11 because it's the only time that has 4 of the same number (unless you go by military time 22:22). Regardless, I guess the pinnacle of a brand is when your company name becomes synonomous with the industry (Xerox, Coke, Google, iPod, Kleenex)

Wow... this may be in my Top 5 most bizarre posts ever.
