Are you good at Public Speaking?

Getting brain surgery has been a huge conversation starter for me and people aren't put on guard at all, everyone's like "holy shit, tell me more". I've gotten so much free shit and discounts at dispensaries over the past week. I should keep this shit maintained/shaved

If only I could tweet or blog as I can speak. Not a very conversationalists either (because I love my voice too much and I keep cutting off people) but damn, give me a Mic and a podium and I own the floor. For hours. Oh, I love to give presentations and sales pitches.

I have never won a debate competition.. Only discovered my love for the Mic later in life ( early twenties)..

PS; I don't know what to tweet, or how to make a witty retort to an internet comment. FML.

HOLY SHIT TELL ME MORE. WHY ARE YOU WEARING PRISON OJ?

I practice public speaking and public entertainment every. single. day. I teach seniors in high school. It's my job to make British Literature exciting for kids who couldn't give a flying flip 90 percent of the time. After ten years in the spotlight, I'm pretty reasonable at getting a point across and keeping my reluctant audience engaged.

I'm a member of Toastmasters. It definitely has helped my public speaking skills. It also helps expand your personal brand since people will want to associate with you. I've studied some of the better speakers in my area. When they tell a story the intro needs to grab the audience and the conclusion always ties back into the intro. Focusing on elements such as foreshadowing, characterization and the setting are helpful. What I want to do as well is be involved in something like going door to door asking for collections for a charity, telemarketing or a sales related job since that helps with talking to anyone, being able to improv and dealing with rejection. I also take the time to listen to how those in positions like that present to me like Jehovah Witnesses, Mormons and the people at Walmart/Sam's Club that always try to sell you DirecTV.

Closest toastmasters is about 25mi from me. I'd love to participate in something like that, but don't know how involved i Could be.

Most of my speaking engagements have involved working at childrens church and teaching lessons :D
