this whole thing was staged. Nobody attempts an assasination with a gas gun and nobody just forgets to take off the safety before he shoots when it was planned for months and it is the most important thing(and last) to do in your life, because surely you are not getting out of this. Also, if u watch video of the whole situation it will be pretty clear to anyone that it was staged.
This is pathetic and the guy that was supposed to be assasinated is a leader of a party, that works against the interests of Bulagaria. He is a terrorist, who blew a train and 30 people died, then became a political leader of a party that has sabotaged the country since it's inception(right after the commie regime fell).
He buys votes at ellections and organizes transport for people who live in Turkey, but have dual citinzenship and have never lived in Bulgaria to come and vote and then go back after they get paid and after a feast. He is very famous with his ties to the underworld and massive thefts out of national reserves and public contracts. Talking hundreds of millions of Euros.
Also the ministers that he has appointed have screwed up huge time in the past, letting criminals on massive scale pass up. Talking about big cartel guys who control the passage of drugs through the whole of Europe. Also he attempts to destabilize the country on regular basis with talking of ethnic wars and creating ethnic tension. He funded and helped creating organisation for a pro-Bulgarian nationalistic party, just so things would stir up, and he will get more votes out of the all tension.
also, this "asassination attempt" was at a conference, where he would declare his resignation of the party. He didn't resign because of the attempt.

I started to read your post and stopped at the 2nd sentence. If you watch, it had shit to do with the safety. It did, in fact, pop off some gas. It just failed to complete the job. Therefore, I suspect the rest of your post is equally as off the cuff and off the mark.
Would just take 3 people firing then. I'm sure more than one person would have a gun in that situation.
So, Ahmed Dogan, Turkish, is the leader of a liberal party in Bulgaria that represents the interests of Turks in Bulgaria. Looks like the guy was sent to court for high-corruption after receiving a bribe, but was acquitted a few years ago. Oktai Enimehmedov, the assassin was also a Turk, living in Burgas, second largest city in Bulgaria. The Turks constitute around 12% of Bulgaria's population.
What would be the motives of staging this ? He publicly said that he was going to resign, anyway, there was no reason to fast forward his resignation.

the turkish community is not united. The only thing that unites them is the strong grip of Dogan. Now, when he resigns, the one that takes over the position needs all the backup he can get.
That would be my guess. Nobody can be ceritan. Mr. Dogan is a very, very smart politician. The smartest in Bulgaria. Unfortunately he doesn't work for Bulgaria's interest and nobody can tel you what is going through his mind and why that was done. Also, the the guy just went to the public and watched the rest of the convention, where a secratary was reading his speech, where he resigns. WTF?
And also... gas gun? WTF is that shit. If u need a gun in Bulgaria, trust me, you are going to find one very, very easily. You're gonna find guns, AKs, explosive, handgranades, rocket launchers and w/e you can imagine. Going after one of the(if not the most) powerful man in the country with a gas gun? plz...
