Atheists not allowed to adopt.

lol, article is from December 7th, 1970. Still crazy that they thought that way back then.

lol that's what happens when you get your news from the net. I've really got to get in the habit of checking dates on this shit. :-/ I'm still pretty shocked that a judge ever said that though. A freakin judge for fucks sake.

hahaha... and here I am, all up in arms and nowhere to go.

You can't be a scout leader if you don't believe in some sort of god. My hubby was knocked back, even though there are no male leaders in our entire district. They have a wiccan leader though. Wonder if he'd have been accepted if he was a satanist - they believe in a higher power.

Wow, a judge denies the right to a child due to aspiring parents not believing in a superior being??? How do people like that become a judge anyway? If anything, atheists should actually have more rights to adopt a child. Why? because generally atheists allow their kids to make up their own decision while teaching them the value of 'critical thinking'.

Atheists just lack the belief in a god or gods. Atheism is one thing, the way you raise your children is another. However, I do agree that atheists who were once indoctrinated become atheists again through logic and rationale.

haha.. this was posted elsewhere and it was like "wtf did you read the date?"

39 years, I mean, think about how far we've come with technology. If it weren't for the lines of communication opening globally a lot of these issues would be a lot more common.
