Hey guys, I read a post on earnersblog that talked about replacing Adsense/YPN with AuctionAds. I am not completely sure what auctionads is other than a contextual banner spot similar to adsense that shows ebay advertisements. I don't know the pay structure, etc. behind this program, but check out this guy's stats from digital point:

A couple of days revenue with YPN:

Now, a couple of days with the replaced AuctionAds:

I've been ready to try something new lately with my PPC and so I think this may be where I do some experimenting. Does anyone have any experience with AuctionAds .com or how it works and whether or not this is a good option.

I am considering starting an open case study similar to Dekalog6's "Full Disclosure of Arbi Campaign" and letting you guys know how I do.

Please feel free to post any hate/love for AuctionAds here.

We should merge this thread with the one I made about 9 minutes ago located here.

I really like using them for a variety of reason though I'll explain in a few.

What I find impressive about those stats posted is the traffic! If you've got that much traffic to begin with, you've got some flexibility in looking at the best ways to monetize. Most of us don't have the luxury of such high volume. And let me tell you... that's not ppc traffic is my guess.

Yeah if you've got traffic like that kicking around your site, your set, your going to be making some good money off almost any program.

Right, but look at the didfence though. He is getting a lot more per click than adsense. Even if he had a lot less traffic, he would still be making more than adsense. Do the images from the auctionads ad blocks help to drive more traffic to clicking on the ads themselves? I would think so. That guy had roughly the same traffic on both the YPN and the auction ads, but more clicks on the auctionads right? (I'm on my cell phone at work, so I can't see the pictures)Also, Aequitas, how do you get paid for auctionads? Is it a click system like adsense, or do you get paid per ebay signup?

Yeah, it's shoemoney's new thing.

It's not as much a competitor with Adsense/YPN as it is with Chitika.

Is AuctionAds The Death Of Chitika?

I just started using them and haven't had a sale, but it seems like a good idea. Basically, because of how much volume all the members do that puts us all in ebay's top tier for commission % so we all get paid more even though AuctionAds takes some off the top.

That site in the OP's example was a baseball card/hobby site if I'm not mistaken. That would be the perfect candidate for something like this so I wouldn't expect that level of increased commissions on an information-type site.

From what I know about them you get paid per click, plus you get paid more if they buy something, plus you get paid per sign up haha, plus you get paid some more anytime that person returns to eBay to buy something (30 day window from when they first clicked on your AuctionAds).

This is possible because of the way eBay has their affiliate program set up, for instance this system is part of the eBay affiliate program, and we are all part of the program, so why not just become an eBay affiliate program yourself?, well because they have insane production margin's to reach in order to make the system work for you, for instance at the highest end you need to sell 1 Million Per month and you claim 40% of that.

I cannot remember the other ones but if you can make 1 Million per month on your own then fly at it but this is why AuctionAds puts together a large group of people so they can reach this 1 Million per month sales goal and will hopefully be paying quiet good, from what I've been able to tell of the system allready is that they pay just as much, sometimes a bit more then Google Adsence and so far Its been quiet easy to get clicks, actually easier to get clicks then Adsence because I've only got my ads in one spot on my sites, where adsence is carried through every blog post.

So I hope that kind helps clear a few things up, I might not have hit the nail on the head perfectly but its pretty close. (Another words it might not be 100% accurate, the numbers and shit).

You don't get paid for clicks. Only signups and when someone you refer wins an auction on ebay.

It's just like ebay's affiliate program only you have the advantage of being in the top tier because of the large number of publishers.

Your probably right, I was not 100% sure about the clicks, it just appears that way, basically though its the standard eBay affiliate program, like you said your just on a higher side of things.

i'm still baffled as to why there is no clear information on payouts at auctionads.com.

There is clear information about payouts, once your account reaches $10 dollars you will get paid through PayPal, however I assume they will only pay once a month to keep things simple.

sorry i meant what actions a publisher gets paid for, and how much for each action. i don't see this anywhere on the site

Good point and I'm not sure the answer to that, maybe ShoeMoney will see this post and help clear that up a bit, but it might be pretty hard to predict that for each product.

it actually depends on country..

for instance in the USA you get paid if someone signs up or wins a auction

in germany you get paid PER BID and nothing else...

Each country is a little bit different.

I was working on some more informational materials but then we started such rapid growth... we are doubling our userbase and impressions about every 4 days plus our first payout is april 1 (no april fools) ya thats right net-0 payouts. Those are our main concerns is to keep everything running as we grow and also make sure payouts happen as promised.

After ses nyc I am going to assign people to get more information on the site about the structures and other stuff.

fuck me, net 0. Now thats what you get for having that kind of capital... now all you need is a backup server to work when theres downtime :|

you won't be able to get results (profits) like that without a lot of money and resources just to get going. Takes money to make money :)

i wouldn't be making money on the internet if i had that kind of cash flow, i'd have a carwash :) but this is about internet marketing... just my 2 cents...
