Back when I lived there in the early 80's it was just like Miami Beach in the 50s. The Gold Coast is a great place to live, if you can do it right.

Also, what's the deal with people that live 30 seconds form the beach always having such huge pools? I don't get it. You've got the beach right there!
A spa, sure, but if you want to swim, we have ace beaches.

Because there's a lot of shit in the ocean there that will fuck you up. Really big fish with nasty teeth, jellyfish, those shellfish with the poison dart thingys, the stingray that killed Steve Irwin, etc. etc.

I'll stay by the pool thank you.

This last year I decided to go Australia and scuba dive on the great barrier reef, I will never forget it. A lady I was diving with did get stung by a jelly fish on her ass and was bitching about it, but I would get stung on the balls just to go again, it was that cool.

I loved Australia. Surfing at bondi beach was pretty sweet too.

Yeah you could say the Gold Coast is our Miami, but the particular area, Hope Island/Sanctuary Cove is like our Beverly Hills.
