Authorities order bars not to serve black people

I just got back from Shenyang (about 8 hr train ride NE of Beijing) and for the past 2 weeks all bars, clubs, and kareoke places have been closed at night. I think they are trying to prevent foreigners from being in uncontrolled environments.
Asian countries embarrass themselves when they try to make things better. I have been thrown out of bars for being an average 6 foot tall white guy. The reason they said was that they were "closed" and this was 8pm on a Friday.
That was in Japan but I imagine China would be worse.
Often asians either hate your guts and show it, or they go out of their way to help you. Sometimes I would just wish to be left alone.

it really depends which city did you go. If a Chinese go to a redneck bar he will get special treatment too. and don't forget most Japanese speak zero English..they might rather not serve you than having trouble communicate with you.
i doubt Asian hate westerner (unless you do stupid shit, one of my friend got drunk in Japan and throw a garbage can to a garbage truck..he end up getting beat up really bad by some kid)
sometime they look unfriendly because they are nervous about their bad english.
Listen buddy I lived in several Asian countries for nearly a decade. Racist Asians are the worst.
That said, the Chinese in particular are very loyal and supportive friends, even the racist ones, if you can get past their barriers.
Having a fat bankroll usually helps.
Not a damn thing, except get knocked the fuck out once or twice.
Once they get it through their heads that I'm not a Nigerian syndicate member everything is cool. I tend to "go local" in the countries I travel to riding public transport, eating where local people eat.
This doesn't mean I'm not riding around in taxis and beemers and eating brunch at the hyatt, because I damn sure am doing that as well.
Lots of it comes from me being from a multi-racial society but I just don't like being hated for who I am.
That said, punching a Chinese loudmouth in the head, knocking him to the ground out cold, in the China, in the midst of a crowd of Chinese people, and then slipping into a taxi and riding off into the night is something everyone should do at least once.
