Average Affiliate Manager Commission

I wouldn't wish "affiliate manager" job on even my worst enemy. You think the n00b questions annoy you on here, just imagine non stop emails and phone calls about the dumbest issues and for what... maybe 2 sales at the end of the week?

In most cases theres an 80/20 rule, in Aff marketing its a 95/5 rule with 95% of affiliates barely doing $500 sales a MONTH!

We're spoiled at this forum but don't forget who else joins networks: DP'ers, Warriors, Guru Followers, [Insert Traffic Source] Coach Graduates, etc...

AMs can easily sift through the shitty affiliates and provide the modest to top earners with dedicated support. They aren't going to babysit a brand new affiliate that can't even pull 1 sale per week.

You are correct, the commission is usually (if not always) based on profit, not revenue.

depends on the setup i guess - in my case it's overall revenue generated by affiliates.

there are so many different network/advertiser profit models though (CPA, CPL, or hosted pay-per-sale like regnow) that it's hard to be clear on commissions.

Also, GOOD affiliate managers deal with supers, crappy ones deal with newbies. Most often though newbies just get ignored.
