i used to have a ad on facebook with uncle sam as my picture. and surprisingly the ctr got pretty high till someone decides to flag it.

I've seen that ad every day for months on CNN I don't know how its turning a profit. But it has to be making money if its been there so long.

Advertisers just target demographics. I get hit with lots of diet and political ads. I also get lots of ads for events in my city. I assume they take my gender (female), age(probably your mom's age), political affiliation (liberal), and location into account.

It's been awhile since I ran a facebook adv., so I don't remember being able to target political affiliation, but maybe some people can...or they just figure all the middle aged women are liberals. (Uh except for the scary hocky mom's in Alaska).

I don't take them personally. geeez. The author of that article is a nitwit.
