I have around 500 gb of media on an internal drive and manually copy everything over to an external drive. This can be tedious at times and I'm looking to make things more automated.
I was looking into RAID and buying this enclosure:

I'm not too familiar with having a RAID setup, but if I use RAID 1 and one of my drive crashes, is the other drive effected? Am I able to just pull out that failed drive and put a new one in then have the 2nd drive rebuild the new one. If this isn't the case, what method would you suggest? Thanks.
