There are toolbars out there which upon installation will replace all the standard sized banners on pretty much any website with their own ads. To me it sounds like a boat load of legal problems down the road unless I am missing something.

What do you guys think?

The idea has popped in my head before, I didn't know it was already implemented. The reason I dismissed it was that popups are probably better anyway

its kinda arbitrary what law takes precidence i think. its not illegal to bypass ads, why should it be illegal to switch them around? provided the user has accepted a license agreement ofc.

also i know nothing of the law, you should consult with legal expertise instead of relying on me. nothing good would come of that :)

So in essence what you guys are saying is that you can alter any publisher's webpage and represent the ammended version to the enduser and the publisher will not come after you? I highly doubt that.

There should be a toolbar that replaces all the bullshit threads in forums with threads full of boobs and ninjas.
