No one can remap the mouse buttons from their default bindings, as well as for some of the keyboard settings lol..

So I + many others can't play it. The actual game looks amazing though, just can't use it because I've been using my key/mouse setup for ages and can't be bothered to learn a new one.

Technically it is the open beta, at least thats what its called on the bf3 website. Those who pre-ordered through origin get a 48h head start. Tomato, tomatoe.

The keymapping thing is bullshit and hopefully they intend on having an option to remap the keys once the game launches.

It also needs better multi-monitor support. I have 3x 27" monitors and the game looks like absolute crap. I logged in with my roommates origin account and played a few games. At 5760 x 1080 it won't full screen and the ui dissapears. I'm using 2x gtx 580's in sli w/ nvidia surround. I really hope they fix this by the time the game launches because playing bf3 on 3 monitors would be fantastic.
 


I know a couple of people in the Beta and am taking a look tomorrow.

Am VERY glad to see they have portable surface-to-air weapons. In BF2, helicopters in particular can rule the map with a good pilot. MANPADs will help balance that out a bit.

Lots of BF3 Beta gameplay videos on Youtube, including some from the HUGE "Caspian Border" map! (and BTW, re: earlier comment, I think PC maps can hold up to 64 players, not 32 - at least in the final version).
 
 
I just downloaded the PC beta and had a quick game - haven't played a "real" FPS (i.e. not TF2) for a long time so I spent most of my time being killed by people I couldn't see. Was fun though.
 
All my friends keep bringing up the beta and ask me to get it. I just might have to try it now..
 
Just downloaded this and found out that it will not run on XP! Guess it may finally be time to upgrade to windows 7. Question is what version? I am think home premium 64 bit unless someone gives me a good reason to go for ultimate.
 
I can't believe the bullshit you have to go through to get in a game. Not like a disorganized interface, but a fucking web browser, plugin, window mode FUUUUUUU!

THIS.

First you start the origin client, then you hit play, then it launches your browser (and prompts you to download a plugin first time), then you navigate through a terribly messy interface, join a game, and it starts in WINDOWED MODE!

There is no main menu.

And best of all, when you want to switch servers, you shut the game down and go back to your web browser.

All I have to say is wow...
 
peak times on 360, next to impossible to get in. mainly been playing late nights, fun as hell though. I wish I could play on the pc all the time, but most of my retarded friends have a 360. I will get it for both anyway, can't miss out on 64 players.
 
I actually enjoy launching games from browsers as long as I already have a browser open (which is 99% of the time). It's a pain in the ass to load up a game just to see if your favorite servers are filled or not. I usually use game-monitor or another third party browser or the server browser for steam to check first.
