Be a Ron Paul Delegate. I'll figure it out for you.

Did you find your SD#? Did you hook up with that Meetup group? Let me know if you need more info.

I'm in Precinct 0052, SD #15.

I was actually connected with several Meetup group for awhile but I stopped following it because they bombarded my email box with shit like sign making and waiving. That's great and all, but I have no interest in that stuff. There was also drama between leaders of some of the groups which added to the confusion.

Part of it is my fault - like all Meetup groups, you never know who really has their act together, who is dormant, etc. - so I just joined all of the RP ones in Houston. Well turns out all of them are pretty active, I was bombarded with emails and information.

That combined with my ignorance of how the delegate & nomination process works + hearing about how he's getting his ass kicked in every primary left me kind of jaded.

Now if I'm correct in understanding that there's still a chance of a nomination because of delegates, I need to get my shit together and contribute. I've also got 2 neighbors who are RP guys. If this can be made simple I can get them on board.

So now I'm back to square one. Who do I need to connect with, what do I need to do? What do I need to learn?

Being that you're so close to me (alas but in different counties) I happen to have a lot of sources but the last thing I want to do is overwhelm you again, so I'm going to list what I think to be the most granular. Ron Paul Delegates - Texas Senate District 15 (Houston, TX) - Meetup
This is their facebook page (looks like it might be more updated than the meetup) Ron Paul TX SD 15 | Facebook

This is a meetup dedicated only to grabbing delegates in District 15. So you should be set. There's a meeting this saturday so join up today, add that you're bringing 2 guests (your friends) and tell me how it goes. If the meet up turns out to be crap (which I highly doubt it will be) tell them they will have the wrath of Turbo rain down on them.

Excellent. You, my lady, are a champion of liberty.

Kinda Quiet in here... Don't let this awesome effort die!

We ESPECIALLY need California and Texas delegates right now... We can WIN if we push a little harder in those two critical states.

btw I attended training the other day. Still confused as fuck and I was the only person from my SD who showed up.

The training was more an overview of the process. The instructor never explained an actual plan. =\

She also made it sound like because this is our first time we'd get our asses kicked - that its more of a long-term thing becoming a delegate and getting onto committees and that the real vulnerabilities are in the less populated precincts & districts.

I get why they can't just produce a how-to video, because it'd fall into the wrong hands, but this whole process is frustrating and confusing.

I like that effort. Keep it up guys. I wish Paul'ians would infiltrate the GOP for local offices in similar ways. turbolapp: there could be potential for a site, i.e. combining those willing to do the research and who don't have to be from the US, with those who are in the US but too lazy to do it, but are willing to show up at least if the "cause" is worthy.

That is happening too. Ron Paul supporters took over party officer positions at both the precinct caucus and senate district convention in my area. We just had a big Ron Paul delegate meeting to decide who to run for party officer positions and national delegate spots at the next convention.

The people that are currently delegates are also the ones that decide who gets the official Republican party nomination for most elected offices. If Ron Paul supporters have a delegate majority and vote together, they control the party nominations.

It really is. I see why people don't bother. But then I think of all those fat establishment fucks with a brain the size of a turnip showing to take the place of people who gave up and think: Fuck if I'm going to let these assholes outdo me.

Your image in the thread says Colorado April 14th. Hmmm

Didn't hear that news either. = /

This is going on right now. Out of 36 total, there are 7 CDs and each one sends 3 delegates(plus 3 alternates) to the RNC. Tomorrow there will be 12 selected + 3 unpledged (plus I think 12 alternates). CD7 was yesterday. Right now, those who are attending the various districts are tweeting the results, this is what is known:

CD 1 - Ron Paul 6/6
CD 2 - Santorum 1, Unpledged 2 (alternates not posted)
CD 3 -
CD 4 - Ron Paul 5/6
CD 5 - Santorum 2 / Romney 1, 1 alternate / Paul 2 alternates
CD 6 - Romney 5/6
CD 7 - Santorum 1 / Romney 1 / Unpledged 1 / Paul 1 alternate / Unpledged alternates 2

CD7 numbers according to this:
Kristen Wyatt ‏ @APkristenwyatt Reply Retweet Favorite · Open
From CD7: Pete Coors a pledged delegate for Romney. Other delegates: Anil Mathai (Santorum), Jeremy Strand (unpledged) #copolitics

CD7's alternates to the RNC: @libbyszabo (unpledged); Lloyd Garcia (unpledged); Robert Eskenberry (Ron Paul). #copolitics

There are some pretty strong numbers out there (20% to 40%?) of Paul folks getting in as Romney's delegates in Primary states where Romney won and Paul ppl couldn't do anything else. Of course they're bound to vote Romney the first vote in Tampa, but they are betting on a second vote. A lot counts on it and they're not loving the early drop-out by frothy.

I see clearly. I see that Romeny is ALREADY the Republican candidate and Obama has already won a second term. Try all you want, nothing will change that. It was decided long ago.

It WAS decided long ago...

Now, however, it is growing apparent that those who decided it underestimated the power of liberty, their mortal enemy.

What I find interesting is that even if what you predict comes to pass, the credibility of the media, and this thing we call politics, is going to be destroyed in the process by their own hand.

I'm not really into politics in general, but the last few weeks or so, I've checked out some of the Paul forums to see what they are all about. I caught this segment today:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03XgywEVbB0]Alex Wagner on MSNBC's "NOW" Interviews Jesse Benton - YouTube[/ame]

amid all the back and forth, around 5:30 of the video they are asking the campaign mgr about the future, after this election cycle and he basically says welcome to 2008 we haven't stopped since then.

A lot of people at those forums have been at this and remember how they got screwed last time around, where they made mistakes. I was following what was going on in CO on Friday; these people are organized to the point where they are carrying radios around the convention floor to communicate, and coordinating their efforts at 5 or 6 locations.

This is the result so far from CO, 21 chosen (12 more Sat. Night), and from firsthand accounts at dailypaul, they are saying at least 9 of 10 unpledged are Paul delegates:
Colorado Republican Delegation 2012

But the real reason I posted all this is because the type of organizing going on in this thread is happening in a lot of other places, and it appears to be paying off, because what is happening in CO can also happen in a lot of other places.

I just returned home from my Congressional District Convention. About 350 Senate District delegates were seated and voting.

We won 3 out of 3 National Delegate spots, 3 out of 3 National Alternate spots, and 7 out of 7 CD Vice-Chair party officer spots.

The establishment had their slate posted all over the walls on big posters, and handed them out individually before voting, but they still lost. Hopefully we will have similar results at the state convention next month, 13 National Delegates will be elected there.

I have heard the same results from two other CD conventions that took place today.

Awesome to hear Netphase!

In case people out there think ^this is a one-off situation, let me assure you this is what we hear MOST of the time... Paul's seriously got a shot because the Polls you see on TV don't elect anyone... Delegates do.
