Belvedere Vodka... Smoother than Rape

2 months ago one of the reputable WF members raped me so I find this ad very offensive.

PS You know who you are Mr Rapist, be proud of yourself but all jokes on as I'm HIV positive.

PS2 don't ask me who was it.

Great feedback, keep 'em coming. This was an interesting read: http://marketing.wharton.upenn.edu/documents/research/Negative_Publicity.pdf

Basically it says it comes down to current awareness, if currently not a very known brand, then it's positive but no so much for an unknown brand. I hadn't heard of the vodka so I guess it worked.

I agree with the concept, I just thought rape was pushing it, plenty of other ways to be controversial with a topic more can relate to like "tell her to make you a sandwich" or some shit but I guess not. And apparently there aren't any real consequences so inb4 incest, child abuse, and whatever else can be come up with ads + an apology.

Are you fucking kidding me?!!!

Way to Go TIME!!!

When I followed the above link, right next to the article are Dove ads with little girls in the right hand column at EYE LEVEL next to this:

"When asked by a New York Observer reporter which charity would receive its donation, Belvedere’s president mentioned RAINN (the Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network)"

The caption in the ad is "She wants to be just like you, MOM!!" with the little Golden Dove logo above it?

REALLY?!! You're BASHING Belvedere Vodka and then RIGHT NEXT to INCEST you have little girls pictured and they are saying that they want to be like MOM!!! (Abusive fathers persuade little girls to have sex by making them feel like they need to take "mommy's" place with dad!! I am truly stunned here!!)

Lulz

oohhh I feel like the Twitter Twits that started this misconstrued uproar!! Or am I maybe reading too much into the Dove AD's position in relation the TIME article?

Hmmm....I wonder......

LOL
