I have to add that Singapore is 42% more expensive than New York while offering much less "quality of living" than NY.

Aren't you the guy with roommates and a landlord you have to sneak around because you have a curfew? Not to mention you're renting a room or something? lol

I'm a newlywed with a baby on the way. I finally own a few offers making more more a day that most Americans earn per paycheck and it feels like for the first time in my life (after eight years of griding) everything I touch is finally turning to gold. I live in America in a town where it's 80 damn degrees right now and the my biggest inconvenience on a daily basis is so minuscule that I'd be a bitch to mention them. (Boohoo, I have to pack up some boxes of berries.)

So am I "butthurt" over your comments about a place that I've never been to or have any ties to?

Yes, that's exactly wrong with me. I'm butt hurt over a guy who can't even figure out how to make money in the biggest booming economy in the world.

Yes, I did stay with landlord and housemates. I rented my own room back then. Most of singles here in Singapore rent a room since there are not many studios around. Even if there are, a studio would cost much more than that of NY and domestic purchasing power here is lower than other first word countries. Since then, I have moved into a studio that monthly rental costs more than average person's paycheck. I have my own reasons to rent than buying.
