Best Business Credit Card for Affiliate Marketing USe

Amex Plum is now 1.5% cash back. All old card holders get the old rate of 2%, but new applicants get 1.5%.

That sucks then, my debit cards has that same rate cash back.. and an extremely high daily POS limit as well. Not to mention the sapphire is even better then my debit cards

What other benefits is the Plum then if you happen to not get the 2%? Starwood is for sure looking better now.

Well, 1.5% cashback on very high ad spends is still nothing to snub your nose at. Most of the higher cashback cards available have limits on them (usually like 3% or so on the first $5000 per month) and then fall back on 1% cashback for the remainder. If you do a ton of traveling then Starwood is definitely the way to go. You can usually get really nice rooms for around 15000 points or so. For example you can get rooms at the W and such for this amount, which go for a lot more than the $200 that the Plum cashback would yield.

Just wanted to add that its pretty tough to get a really high limit Starwood card. I haven't been able to get anything higher than $20K on my Starwood and have had the card for 2 years with perfect payment history, whereas Plums usually start with 'rolling' limits of around $100k or so. Not to say there aren't peeps with 6 figure starwood cards, but they seem to be stricter on the limits with them.

It's kind of tough, but do-able depending on your card utilization, history with Amex and finances. You gotta call them up and ask for them to manually review your account for a limit increase. They will open a case or ticket and a specialist will look at it as opposed to you using the online automated system to request a credit line increase.

In my experience, the rep will contact you and ask you to fax in your last 2 years of tax returns and/or last 3 pay stubs. They run all the info by one of their underwriters and will increase your credit line accordingly. First time I did this my limit doubled, second time it tripled. YMMV.

Totally doable, but again depends on your personal situation.

I agree with illeat- I've had the same thing happen to me with Starwood. They are very strict about raising the limit, and you can get higher limits with Amex Plum, Gold, or Platinum. Plum for cash back - Gold/Platinum will get you points you can use for travel.

Again, if you're legally a new business (i.e. just incorporated less than a year ago), any recommendations? AmEx isn't too friendly to that, even if you have stellar personal credit.

Also how about the INK series from Chase?

I've had my starwood for 2 years now and they increased my limit from the initial 25k spending limit to 50k. Have you tried calling their account services and request for a bump?

Just go to the bank where you store your money and ask them (credit, not debit). Banks usually give out CC's that have a decent spending limit.

Or you could put up your house as collateral and then you'll have a real high limit.

Ya, a few times actually. Only thing I can think of is that it is a personal Starwood rather than a business one. Either way, I don't travel a ton so almost all of my expenses go on a Plum.
