So hostgator did a nice 'lil bait n switch on me. I paid for lvl 1 vps hosting, but then after spending a day and a half trying to figure it out, (them sending me to all these videos on how to set up packages and create cpanels), I finally had the 6th support specialist tell me I didn't get cpanels with the vps lvl1 hosting with them.

:action-smiley-052:

Anyways I don't really care to give hostgator my business anymore as I've lost money this entire time trying to fix this problem.

I've heard zen, liquidweb and asmallorange are good companies but wanted to ask you guys with experience on this one.

Cheers

I use wiredtree. You get full root access to your cPanel VPS. Great support and have never had any probs. Your looking at around $50/m for it but its well worth it, plus with coupons you get alot more for that $50. Try one of these:

I use Rackspace Cloud with an external CPanel license (they don't offer it by default). Might not be the choice for you, though, since it sounds like you'll need support - Rackspace won't support any aspects of CPanel.

I use vpslatch. Go to webhosting talk and search for it. The support is quite good.
I have a 2gb ram,100gb space ,free cpanel and fully managed vps for around 40bucks per month. You can find good vps for around 40-60 bucks to be honest.

The one i mentioned is quite whitehat so bear that in mind.

How is something like this?

Hostfolks Internet - VPS Plans

The economy plan paying for a year straight up with the Softaculous License For Cpanel with 5 additional IPs is $130.83 USD

That's not a bad price but are the specs worth it for a (starter) VPS?
