Totally location independent, looking to start a business somewhere. I'm in europe atm. might have some visa issues for the US, but I could get a student visa.

Which one would you choose for establishing a startup idea that could grow big? I've narrowed my list down to san francisco, nyc, hong kong and dublin.

Best location to open a legal business is where the tax are minimal or where you can make them as low as possible.

= Dubai

San Francisco / Silicon Valley is brimming with with tech startups, but just living there can be a challenge if you don't already have a nest egg or a stream of fairly high income.

Good luck bro.

thanks man. i'm a winner, high income places work for me as i adjust quick. spent some time living in paris and london, never had an issue.

NYC is the obvious choice in your list, especially if you want to mingle with other successful entrepreneurs.

agree with that and its killing me having to make a choice that i could possibly regret later on. nyc has every major industry packed into one place, but it seems more geared toward finance/entertainment/fashion.

Fuck Boulder.

I would gladly fuck Boulder

Ideas are a dime a dozen. The best reasons to go to a place like SV are talent and VC funding.

yeah but its ONE that matters most to me and i've built the thing already. it's the type of long term business i'd work decades on improving and innovating and not just something that came out of a brainstorming session. that's why I'll need the right people behind me as there's no way to pull this off alone in the long term. I'm 18 so won't have any problems making friends in open minded places. So far it's NYC or silicon valley. Not ruling out HK, LA & austin too.

thanks for the responses so far, I'm onto something here.
