Best eCommerce platform for moving from affiliate datafeed to dropshipping?

I hope this is the right forum for this...

I've never worked with datafeeds or ecommerce sites before. My only experience is with Wordpress and bare bones HTML sites I make myself.

What ecommerce platform would you recommend for starting out as an affiliate site, that can use the supplier's datafeed, with plans to later move into payment processing for a dropshipping arrangement with the same supplier if the niche works out to be worth the time?

I say ExpressionEngine with the BrilliantRetail plugin. It's not so complex liek magento but still very good. (ExpressionEngine CMS Ecommerce - BrilliantRetail)

PHP Based...

- OS Commerce - and variations off.. xcart / osc max /etc..
The benefit - Anyone with PHP skills can help you modify it. The downside.. oldschool.. technology has outpaced what this platform.. you can do anything with it.. but .. its just old school

- Magento- if you you don't have a trusted development team, or have no experience with developers - magento will be a nightmare for you. If you know software. and specifically ZEND frame work / xml .. magento is the way to go.

- There are a ton of other carts.. and ecommerce for wordpress.. but these are my 2 choices for PHP

If you are in .NET - NOP commerce is the best opensource program
