Got my new netbook and looking around for some good stuff. I've got AVG on some and Avira on another. So far Avira has probably been the best, but the pop up ads from Avira are annoying as hell (yes I know you get what you pay for ) so I was wondering what you guys recommend?

Microsoft is free, well supported with updates, and something they should have done 10 years ago.

I have had my share with AVG and some cracked versions of symantec and kaspersky from bit torrent, they bought a lot of virus and had to reformat the system..

Then with the advice of a friend I have tried Avira..I think its quite neat and efficient...yea you have to have some trouble with the ads....but afterall they are giving it for free...

they give a liscence for 2 years...the updates are automatic and ever since I did not find much trouble withese viruses....
