Best Internet Security Program Windows

I am using the full Avast security suite (not just the free one) and its been pretty solid so far.
Everyone raves about NOD though, so it cant be bad.

Let's be honest, no one "knows" which is better, just has an inclining because it's what they use and because they use it, it's teh bezd.

Unless it's Norton, then you may as well remove half your ram, take down your firewall and ask your dog to keep an eye out for any potential infections. Look, everyone knows the best AV for windows is safe mode without networking.

Can we not have a Windows vs Mac debate? They're fun.

NOD32, I've used most mainstream ones, tested and researched this subject before.

It's more important to play safe than it is to find a good AV though.

Microsoft just released their own anti-virus app that looks promising. Its also free and doesn't whore your OS like ALL the other antivir apps.

You can optionally install it via windows update.

NOD32, or if you're trying to go free then go with MS Security Essentials. It's pretty good.

Then sell the PC and buy a MBP.

I've been wanting to switch for a while as well, so I also thank everyone for the suggestions. My problem is that I've had NIS 2010 running and all of my passwords & logins are stored. Norton doesn't make it possible to export these to a text or csv file so I could import them into a new password saving program. I can't even imagine having write them all down and start over again. That's the sole reason I haven't changed to a different anti virus prog.

Lastpass
Not sure if it will sniff passwords from Norton, but it is an awesome solution for keeping up with all your passwords, autologins and filling forms using multiple identities.

As for antivirus, been using Avast free version after seeing it highly recommended on a Windows techie forum (don't remember which one), and just had a trojan/rootkit get past it and change where it didn't autoupdate or auto-scan, so might have to look into NOD32.

i believe nod32 has the best heuristics, and kaspersky is lacking in that regard

plus nod32 isn't annoying/intrusive like pretty much every other AV, and its not a huge resource hog

one of the best internet security is kaspersky internet security and avast they both work really good.they are best suitable for linux, windows os.so i recommend kaspersky is best.
