Best steak you've had?

Maybe I just got unlucky, but Ruth's Chris was one of the worst steaks I've ever had and the fucking thing was like $75. Most overrated meal I've ever had.

The best steak I've had is any that I've cooked myself.

I agree 100 percent there - I've eaten there a few times and they don't compare to mine.

I'm not a big steak person, but I think my wife thinks steak is one of the food groups so I make them a lot.

Gotta go with Ruth's Chris in San Diego. I've had other 50+ dollar steaks, and RC was the best filet I've ever tasted.

That being said...I make BBQ a bad ass steak. I've had people say my steaks are better than RC. I don't necessarily agree, but I don't think they'd bullshit me.

Go to the local butcher, grocery store, farmer, whatever.

Get the biggest, thickest NY strip or Ribeye you can get. Don't ignore the marbling here, people!

Pan cook on each side for 30 seconds in a pan with blazing hot oil. Just cook the outsides (this is where all the bacteria is and why a rare steak is safe to eat). Do not overcook. You want this puppy bloody.

Slather in A1 sauce.

Enjoy with a baked potato & sour cream.

Cattlemen's Steakhouse in Oklahoma City. That place is fucking awesome. Meats 100% fresh and cut right there. Their house dressing is pretty dope too.

Publix a supermarket in FL sells this type called Churasko i dunno if that's how they say it in English but best shit I've had in my life with asparagus and Caesar Salad with corn and a cup of wine. It's like eating gods turds

Any good places for steak in NYC? My brother's in Austin and he always brags about the food there. Got me craving for some good steak.

What do you guys think of the previous poster who mentioned the A1 Steak Sauce blasphemy? Where we come from, that's like asking for Ketchup on a steak.

Ruth's Chris is top of the line.. they actually smother/sear the steak in butter, one of their secrets.

Beyond that, best steak ever was, hands down, Michael Jordan's Steakhouse (Mohegan Sun). They had a Kansas aged-steak, I think it was aged like 30-45 days or something, was the best damn cut of meat I've ever tasted. Melted in my mouth, I left the place realizing I've never had better.

Prime rib fans.. make sure you try your meat with the whipped horse-radish sauce and au jus mixed together, try it if you haven't, will bring your taste buds to a whole new level/experience.

I totally agree with you... Michael Jordan's Steakhouse at Mohegan is like an out of this world experience. They could teach Ruth Chris' a thing or two (such as: it's not necessary to use a stick of butter to make beef taste good if it's a good cut of beef to begin with).
