Best Time to Buy Is When Blood's on the Ground ...

What's some ways to profit int he next 72 hours from the devastation Hurricane Sandy will cause ?

Is there some good stock market brands to go after ?

I've read one report that precious metals will be effected, but i don't understand that at all.

Lets hear it.

I find you incredibly annoying, BUT like earlier this year, I'm helping a buddy of mine rent out generators for $50/day. He's got over 200 generators. We're both going to make about $10-20k within the next week from it.

Hustle, like a short term, fast hard work. It's a good idea. I dictionaried this (shapow!) and it looks like hustle actually has a negative connotation though.

Inb4 500 people burn up their new generators because they're not sold with oil in them. Inb4 5 more die because they run it in their basement and succumb carbon monoxide poisoning.

The sad part is this will probably happen.

I actually know the generator hustle personally.

Couple years ago we moved into our new house and 3 months later had a huge ice storm that left our community without power for about 1.5 weeks.

By the 2nd day I knew I was going to have to do something as I didn't want our pipes to burst and have to leave the house with our kids.

As I was driving out of town, I came across this guy that had a trailer full of generators that came up from Alabama just to sell them here ( he had watched the storm come in via the weather channel ).

He was selling each generator for $3k, these were $1200 units in stores like Lowes/Home Depot ( portable 9000 ones ). Even sadder, these were not new, but reman. units. However, I knew all the stores would be completely out of generators and gas was selling out quick in the local areas as well, so I bite the bullet and bought 2 of those fuckers.

Even though I paid a shit ton more money for them then they were worth, it was the best products I ever bought as I have had to use them multiple times already since then.

The guy who sold them to me had about 30 of these and sold every single one of them that day. I would think a reman. unit of that type prob only cost him near

Been thinking of doing the same myself.....

Edit, found it online actually... http://titanindustrial.net/9000.html says the comparable price is almost $5k, but I see these same types in stores for $1200.

He rents them out because long-term he makes a killing from it. Back when a derecho hit DC in the summer, he rented about 75% of his units in the rich neighborhoods for about $75/day. His ROI on them so far is probably 1,000%+.

there's stock moves to be made . I obviously dont know how but people are not saying this for no reason.

Generators sounds like a nice close out for week.

I would think the contrary.. They would be doing bad (because they are going to have to pay a lot out, very soon. Likely more than they took in)
Does sarcasm exist in your country?

I'd be afraid of desperate customers. Perhaps if I hired an armed guard to protect it, but that's not a fun way to make a buck... Kinda depressing in fact when some can't afford it but tell you lives depend on getting one.

You would be much better off if you made some plays before the weekend. Any moves into construction companies would be have a great bet. Also some plays into companies such as Dominos would have worked well since lots of folks didn't want to travel on Sat or Sun and would rather order delivery. Good shorts would be in insurance companies. Imagine the amount of claims bound to come out.

Metals are dropping in value but nothing that severe. Biggest hit was taken by Copper at -1.24% so far today but Gold is only down -0.13%.
