Best TV-SERIES of all time

What a weak thread. The only reason Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Scrubs, Arrested Development is not in this thread, can only mean you guys are all mentally disabled and gay.

in no particular order:

Californication
Breaking Bad
The Wire
The Shield
How I met your mother
Entourage
Hustle

1. Prison Break ( nothing came even close to this one , just brilliant )

That is one hard trolling...Prison Break as a whole blew. The first season was an 8/10, after that 2/10 show.

Anyways,

1. Dexter
2. Seinfeld

"I Love Lucy" pioneered the usage of three cameras (opposed to one), invented the rerun, and was the number one show for multiple seasons straight (even ending its run at the top: Something only repeated by "The Andy Griffith Show" and "Seinfeld").

I'm curious, what did any of those shows you mentioned do to make television history?

I'd rather be mentally disabled and gay than a down-right fool.

Who the fuck watches Scrubs? Really?

EDIT: I concur with the Sopranos as being one of the best. By far my favorite television drama, I still watch it daily.

Best series of all time:

"I Love Lucy" by far.

Followed by

Some of the choices mentioned above me are short-sighted and abysmal.

I'll give three to

EDIT: Just because a show is your favorite doesn't mean it deserves to be called one of the all time best.

My favorite show by far is 30 Rock, would I ever put it in that list? No. The best ever should be responsible for shaping the rest of television.

Trendsetting.

The first sentence in the op is "What are the best TV-series of all time in your opinion ?"

If you are of the Lucy generation and think it is the best from personal experience that's cool. If you are younger yet were still exposed to that series and think it is the best good for you. If however you did a quick wiki search and found that the masses voted that way decades ago or even today you didn't really answer the question of ". . . in your opinion"

Someone's opinion is subjective, sort of like art. The people above answered the topic of the thread, they gave their opinion. What you think of their answers doesn't count, your nothing.

When you make the statement "Some of the choices mentioned above me are short-sighted and abysmal." I would like to think that even if I wasn't one of the people who posted above I would still take the time to respond with a big FUCK YOU.

In no particular order...

  1. Arrested Development
  2. Curb Your Enthusiasm
  3. Oz
  4. The Sopranos
  5. The Wire
  6. Sleeper Cell
  7. The Gilmore Girls

I expect none of you to agree with the last one but a) I am a girl and b) the written dialogue in that show is phenomenal.

My cousin like the Prison Break because it is amazing. She just wanted to watch it over and over again. What episode are you currently watching? Is this available in DVDs?

Peeps; The thread asked for THE BEST. -Not you're fucking favorites.

If we use Ad Revenue as the #1 criteria for "the best TV Show," then it's going to be complicated, mainly because the adjustment to today's dollars.

If we go by largest share (percentage of eyeballs in the world watching it) then the "Best" tv show has always been the superbowl. ;)

Any other Criteria we should consider? Also, define what a damn series is! Do mini-series count? How about series of movies like James Bond or Star Wars?

Clearly this thread is too unorganized.
