Best way to learn code

You dumb shit. It doesn't matter what default theme I put on the software for the public site, absolutely nobody is going to use it. Same as nobody uses the default Wordpress theme.

It's not supposed to look nice. Go look at the source HTML, and it's about 60 line, with very minimalistic CSS. There's a reason for that -- so web designers can easily see the structure of themes and required CSS elements. I'm not going to make their job 20 times harder by implementing some complex theme as the default, because nobody is going to use the default theme anyway.

After all the shit you've dished out to me, you still can't even just say "looks good", eh? You're now officially an asshole in my book.

Why would I say "looks good" if it doesn't look good?

Ok, then show me something comparable you've developed and launched. Rocket Audit doesn't cut it, nor does a screen shot of the new SerpIQ, which I can pick up off ThemeForest for $40.

serpIQ has been live for two years now, all of which was designed by me. The screenshot I sent was also not from themeforest, it was done by me.

people arguing over languages and design and whatnot, but in the WF dev competition, Kiopa_Matt fucking SHIPPED! that's all that mattered. better done than perfect.

Hi, There’s not necessarily a best way though – every method has its pros and cons. However, most coders have a preferred way of learning programming that works the best for them. I do, and you probably do too. The only way to motivate yourself to do something is to make something that interests you.

Think of something interesting that you WANT to make and COMPLETE within a given time frame. Remember that the words in uppercase are key.

It has to be something you really WANT to make so you will have the motivation to not give up once you meet the first hurdle (of which there will be many). Have a charming day :)

Thank you. :)

Now I'm starting to finally get some themes in place too:

Envrin CMS - Free, commercial grade account management software.

Managed to partner with some of the better designers on ThemeForest, so within a week or two there should be at least a couple dozen in there.

This is actually quite beautiful. 30 seconds to setup a fully functioning devel environment, customized to the client's needs. A few clicks to install a professional theme, quickly bang out the needed custom functionality, couple clicks to deploy, and voila! A fully functional, high-end, professional looking SaaS solution that supports everything needed. Beautiful!

Software as a service (SaaS, pronounced sæs or sɑs[1]), sometimes referred to as "on-demand software" supplied by ISVs or "Application-Service-Providers" (ASPs),[2] is a software delivery model[3] in which software and associated data are centrally hosted on the cloud.
SaaS != self hosted.

Beyond nitpicking, this may be useful to you:

https://github.com/jbfink/docker-wordpress

Adjust it to support ioncube etc etc, could make deployment very easy on generic linux.

^^ Give a download and install a spin. Deployment doesn't get much easier than that. :)

Then all upgrades are one click from the admin panel.

Sorry what were we talking about again?
