I heard about this on the news this morning and thought it was funny. Evidently, if you use keywords such as "collapse, outbreak, infection" in a Twitter tweet or Facebook comment, you'll pop up on the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) radar as a potential threat.

As set out in the Federal Register and Privacy Impact Assessments, the DHS's social media monitoring initiative would allow the agency to "establish [fictitious] usernames and passwords," to create covert social media profiles to spy on other users, deploy search tools, and record the online activity of particular users, based on the presence of such search terms as "illegal immigrants," "drill," "infection," "strain," "outbreak," "virus," "recovery," "deaths," collapse," "human to animal," and "Trojan."

So, out of curiosity of what's really going on, I did a Google search for some of these terms.

Now, if you notice, the top 3 results all point to one thing: the Zombie Apocalypse.

There are two possible reasons for this:

  • The Government is afraid of the public knowing of a naturally occurring Zombie existence
  • The Government is afraid of the public knowing of a Zombie existence as a result of a military experiment gone wrong
Regardless, thanks to Anonymous, the public now knows that it's not just spamers looking to friend and follow you on Social Media. Watch what you say fellow gay webmasters. If you tell your friends, "Fuck man, I just got done drilling Bofu in some greasy human to animal lovefesting goodness and probably got an infection. I'm going to go collapse on the couch now and eat some soup.", you could end up being taken for questioning and then fed to the Government's Bureaucratic Zombies.

That was the exact phrase used in the morning news segment discussing the DHS government monitoring activity. I was looking for an online source to the practice. I had to do some serious digging to find that source I listed in the first post. I couldn't even find it on NBC's news site even though the anchor said, "For more on this, go to our site."

Anyone who drills me period should be taken in for questioning. And screening.

Too far thinking, I guess. But yes, this could be true. No one knows.

I seen this thread and of course couldn't resist so I updated my FB status using those keywords, made a twitter post, and Googled them...

I just looked out my window and seen a black car parked across the street with 2 men in black suits and sunglasses staring at my house.

This shit is for real!
