In case you didn't actually read what Paypal sent you, looks like they actually just made a huge change starting Nov 18th.

" We're increasing the time for buyers to file merchandise disputes (Item Not Received and Significantly Not as Described) from 45 days to 180 days"

Wow... wtf. WaFo and BHW are going to go crazy with refund requests.

Stripe.com FTW

And I'm sure they won't budge a bit on the point at which they begin putting a portion of your funds in reserve for cb's/disputes.

What a joke. I'll likely never use paypal again to accept payments, even on ebay.

The level of fraud on ebay and paypal seems to be really high, but I'm surprised it hasn't yet got to the point where no seller will use it.

If you read all of the changes, it sounds like it's going to hit the Chinese sellers that are selling direct to U.S. customers pretty hard. If they lose a SNAD case, they lose the purchase price + shipping price + fees + the buyer doesn't have to return the item.

lol, holy shit.

If you don't sell to webmasters or ebayers, paypal is a losing proposition anyway. I have tons of data to back that up with retail consumers, and I really tried.

My business partner = giving customers the most options will win

me = Let's just tell them what to do... put ur card number in...

Me won, over and over again.

I was trying to lose. I spent a ton of money and effort to integrate paypal... I wanted more money. I was in charge of making more money by offering paypal. Not happening with paypal. Now paypal wants to make their customers less attractive, no thanks.

it'd be cool if someone came up with a simple disclaimer that could become common on websites, ie, "paypal not accepted because...xyz"

some of you wickedfire wordsmiths could handle that, n'est-ce pas?

Paypal not accepted because fuck Paypal.

Let's read, shall we?

13.3 Ineligible Items.
PayPal Purchase Protection only applies to PayPal payments for certain tangible, physical goods. Payments for the following are not eligible for reimbursement under PayPal Purchase Protection:

Intangible items, including Digital Goods

<...not a lot further down, same paragraph ...>

Even if your payment is not eligible for PayPal Purchase Protection, you can file a Dispute and try to resolve the issue directly with the Seller; however, PayPal will generally not find in your favor if you escalate a Dispute to a Claim for an item which is not eligible for PayPal Purchase Protection.
(e.g. Didital goods)

All orange stuff highlighted or added by me.

Okay, but shit like this can happen with any service.

This is why, no matter who you're banking with, you need to be involved in good products - and should be anyway.

This is also why everything you sell should have a stick letter to reduce refunds.

This is why you should have the people who buy on an encouragement list to engage use, offer additional help and upsell them more stuff that follows all of the above.
