Find a subniche that you can set up a torrents site for. All the major torrent sites are general and cover everything like movies, apps, games, mp3, porn, tv, books, etc.
But there are still many smaller sites popping up that specialize in a unique torrent selection of a more narrow topic. Digitaldistractions is one. They provide only British humour, sitcoms, and BBC documentaries. (just one example). Eventually, bigger torrent SE's will link to yours and give you traffic and PR.
Many torrent sites monetize their traffic with CPM offers.

This probably isn't what you're looking for and you might just be doing PPC or something, but if you have a bit torrent site (that's legal) that you don't want or would be interested in selling let me know. I'm looking to start a new project soon and could use some bit torrent sites.
Btw, I'd like to know if anyone knows of a good script or system to set up a torrent site. I know I could go the rent-a-coder route, but for now I rather pay for a script or try a free one if they exist.
building a torrent site is not so easy, there are scripts you can get for free, but the traffic and the legal stuff .....its the hard part.
I was wondering, how do all these torrent site cover their ass when there's a shitload of legal stuff that comes with the site?

Movies> you know catch my drift....
they usually have a disclaimer saying they don't endorse the content added by users, they are only a venue etc.
The legal stuff is avoided by being in countries without hardline laws; I wouldn't try starting a torrent site, unless you really, really want to and really, really know what you are doing. Even though things may not hold up in court, its a walking target saying raid my home and sue me.
