A woman in Puerto Rico bought the name rights (in Puerto Rico) and about 12 stores, but is sourcing the movies and other inventory from other providers. She runs the only stores selling high margin products like Haagen Daz ice cream and some stores even stock wine. Smart business.
An article here just mentioned the BlockBusters in Puerto Rico are among the few profitable and the among the very few growing.
With that said, I still believe they wont go out just yet. It's not "officially done" they just declared bankruptcy. That doesnt mean they can't fix shit up and do things that work. If only they allow their corporate asses to see how's the industry going and adapt.
